1) We were only suppose to go 8-4
Regardless of what they were projected to do, LSU was a more talented team than everyone except Alabama this year. (Call Ole Miss a draw if you want but I wont)

2) All the injuries killed us
LSU was extremely healthy compared to other teams this year. We lost a fullback and blocking TE. Plus a few nicks on the Oline. This excuse is weak compared to other teams.

3) This team is too young
I guess all of those early entries finally caught up to us. Since they would have been 6th and 7th year seniors this year.

Anything else I am missing?

Les Miles and Cam Cameron called the offense.

The projection argument is also flawed because it presupposes Miles' coaching deficiencies.

Since next year is a leap year, we had to jump from the every 4 years in the NCG to year 5.

That's how you know your offense is hot garbage. When the loss of a FB and a TE you never throw to sinks the ship.

Ole miss wasn't a draw. They have more talent than LSU, but few are willing to see that. It starts wit QB. They also had 16 seniors on their 2-deep and we had 4 (one being punter)

Teams we lost to all had 5th year senior QBs and ours is a true sophomore.

I can buy this except for the fact Kevin Steele is not a good DC. He likes big bullying DL, the exact opposite of what we have now.

Yeah....this is probably a myth, though. Sorry y'all don't like to hear it, but this roster is very flawed.

Gumps were too good and gave us three losses instead of one.

The offensive scheme/playcalling was one dimensional-vanilla and we waited too late to try and evolve because we got cocky over the creampuff wins.

Defense was legit too young.

One excuse Les Miles ain't going to change. He is what he is a mediocre coach with top tier talent. Our QB will still look like a bad High School QB, penalties, field goals instead of td's and end of year flop after getting curb stomped by Bama. That about covers almost every year!

The players need to execute better because of all of the confusion, penalties, and complete lack of discipline. It's like they can't understand that this comes from a lack of coaching.

I still think we are more talented but it's a valid argument.
However you cannot argue that it's close enough for LSU not to be embarrassed.
