Examples of colleges with successful QB recruiting
Posted by GeismarGeauxer on 8/21/17 at 9:14 pm214
Which college has a good track record of recruiting and handling QB's over time?
Do they get at least a solid QB a class or not necessarily?
How do they keep the non-starters from transferring?

I really believe the problem with LSU has been less to do with recruiting and more to do with development.
QBs consistently digressed under Miles.
If we had landed Dak Prescott there is no way he ends up doing what he's doing currently.
Dan Mullen takes raw QBs and makes them great. See Dak, Tebow, Alex Smith and now Fitzgerald. Only Tebow was highly touted.

USC seems to always have somewhere between a descent to Heisman caliber QB.

BYU has churned out good QBs for decades and they're not exactly a recruiting juggernaut.

Pretty hard to do nowadays. Bama had 2 leave last year after Hurts beat them out. Many backups aren't willing to wait 2-3 years for their turn anymore.
I'd say Urban Meyer has a pretty good track record. Hell, he had 3 to choose from a couple of years ago.

Georgia. They don't always do well in the pros, but they always have a very good, golden boy QB.
Florida State has also produced several great QB's.

Ironically, both of those guys might not start at their new schools. (Bateman at Utah, Barnett at Arizona State)

Georgia under Mark Richt

I would argue that maybe it's their own fault that they can't stay on topic, but I regress.

The days of Flynn hanging around and waiting his turn and playing as a 5 Year Senior are getting to be few. But Flynn made the correct Decision and ended up getting a NC!

Jruss, Flynn, JLee and Mett got better during his tenure.

Oklahoma is a team that always seems to have really good QBs. from Josh Heupel, Nate Hyble, Jason White, Sam Bradford, and now Baker Mayfield.

Ohio State
Oklahoma
Texas Tech
USC
UGA
off the top of my head
There has been team like Oregon, West Virginia, Clemson, Oklahoma St, etc, who've had consistently good QB play for about a decade now.

Some do, some don't.

what made this happen is the broadcasting of cfb games. back in the day qbs would wait their turn at big programs because the little programs weren't on tv. now that we televise most cfb games players will go anywhere for the chance to play early because even those small programs are televised.

The ONLY school that can claim the "develop" QBs in the SEC right now is Moo State. Dan Mullen may not know his arse from a hole in the ground but that bastard can coach some QBs.

The problem with LSU's recruiting of QBs was eliminated at the same time we got rid of Less Miles and his antiquated offense. Now as we show offensive proficiency in that part of the game, quarterbacks are suddenly going to want to play for LSU.
