Why can't LSU swing the bats in the postseason under Mainieri. The team has so much pressure on them in the regional round that they can't perform. Look at the results. It's been a lot of close games in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016.

Mainieri's teams have so much pressure on them in the postseason and they can't swing the bats. Look at the numbers. It's something to study.

The level of competition and the quality of opposing pitching staffs can have a pretty significant impact on hitting.

Just be happy with the W? That's how LSU goes 0-2/1-2 in Omaha again.

I've noticed this as well. I don't think it's just a coincidence. It most likely has to do with the step up in competition as well as the pressure. LSU baseball has a lot of pressure to perform in the post season. I'm sure the players feel it.

All the teams in the Post Season are good or they would not be here. You just have to find a way to win!

They went to ucla in 2010. They missed in 2011. Go look at the 09 regional scores. Lsu was less than impressive against Baylor. These other teams have good players too.

LSU struggled to swing the bats in the 2013 postseason after destroying teams all season. LSU lost at home in the 2014 regional. Then LSU struggled in the 2015 regional and super regional. They won two games 2-0 in the regional last season then snuck by ULL.

This season they are struggling again.

Everyone take off the glasses and look at the results. LSU freezes up in the postseason.

Just to be clear, we are aaying they are struggling to hit in the postseason because of this 1 game where they scored 4 runs off one of the best pitchers in the nation, right?

Have you watched LSU swing the bats in the postseason since 2013? Look at the results and come back to see me.

They hit Utah valley all over the park. They went up against a first rounder who is 2nd in the NCAA in Ks tonight and walked 9 times, struck out only 5 and took a couple ill advised swings (or failure to swings)... They also played 3 innings in rain, which is very difficult, not sure if you knew that. Let's go more than 16 innings before making a blanket statement. LSU fans gotta b*tch about something when the team is winning.

You keep talking about past years. You do realize that 8 of these bats were not playing in any year that your referencing. Truthfully, the lack of a 3 true starting pitcher that can go more than 5 is more concerning to me. That shite will bite you in the arse in Omaha. Maybe you should go look at the UCLA team that won it two years ago. They hit like .220 as a team or something. They pitched and that's what wins in the post season at any level.

Also, this team is at least one year a head of where they are. I don't think anyone could say they expected this team to be a national seed before the season started if they are being honest with themselves.

I don't know if tonight's game is a good indicator, but yes PM's teams do often seem weak at the plate in the postseason. People are shitting on your thread tonight Bc LSU won, yet there is a lot of moaning about the hitting after every year after LSU struggles in losses.

Thanks bigleo for actually remembering past seasons. LSU didn't hit the ball well in the 2013, 2014, 2015 postseasons. And tonight wasn't a good indication for the rest of 2016.
