That is huge. He is NOT afraid at all to sling the ball around.

like Harris did two seasons ago in the near comeback loss to State?

What you imply is not applicable as he has experience and more maturity than Harris did at that time.

Apples and oranges is play style.

I remember State being in prevent-garbage-D and that we were really lucky on some of those passes.

But, that's fine jptiger2009 ... we'll just put you in the "keep harris / not make LSU football great again" crowd.

The bad thing is he is going to get coached just like Harris did, and like AJ before him, and like JJ before him.
All three have come on in relief and looked like they would at least be game managers.

the point was to speak compare Harris' first game and his "comfort sling it".

He went out there unleashed much like Etling's appearance.

P.S. I'm not saying that I want Harris to start. I don't think that should even be an option at this point. The answer is clear to me and mostly everyone else.

Harris has NEVER shown that level of poise in the pocket. Never.

My point is to say that nearly every QB in the Miles era has shown flashes of let's just say "good". Maybe the bigger issue is being a product of this system..??

Which Etling wouldn't really fit (more like a Met-transfer situation)

Miss. St. in 2014...he looked and played better than DE in an sec game. Sorry but 6-9-140 yds 2 tds/1 int is much better than what DE did against an FCS team.

Neither were Harris and Jennings when they were first thrust into duty. The longer he plays in a Miles/Cam offense, the worse he will be.

Just trying to get you to be cautiously optimistic...we have seen what a miles offense does to qbs hell just look at the 2nd half

But at the time it was the "keep Jennings/ not make LSU football great again" crowd. I think all he's saying is the same people who crucified Jennings and anointed Harris then are the ones dogging Harris and pumping Etling now". Hey, I get it. It's time for a change. We all want to be successful again. Just temper the expectations and let's see what happens.

Imo Harris problem is his coaches , i think they are holding him back and they have him scared to death to make a mistake or turn the ball over just like every other QB under miles ....

I hate clm approach to a game plan , I don't know why any skill position player would want to play for him , especially QB....

look like he didn't have the arm as he underthrew Dupree 2 times.

Yeah, Les won't stand for that at all...see Jarrett Lee's entire college career, the Auburn game in 2014, and then the 2 WR sets we regressed back into coming out of halftime last weekend.

Les is the problem, as we all should know. He's death to a QB's development.

Harris game includes the bomb, the long pass, and the longer pass....he has zero short and intermediate accuracy and is a head case in the pocket.....like I said before...2nd coming of Jordan Jefferson.

first of all he didn't necessarily under throw as much as it was a late throw. Second, I'll take short and intermediate accuracy over long throw accuracy any day of the week. His skill set can convert 3rd downs and keep drives alive....something that we'll NEVER get with Harris.

I'm not knocking Harris...he's a good kid and will be successful in life but he's definitely lacking the "it" factor as of now.
