Extra reps= good

More coaching focused on him= bad

Thoughts?

Considering that half time seemed to derail the pain train, I'm worried that a full week of 1st team reps will take us backwards.

If he throws a stinker we know that corching has "struck again".

He's going to be a full blown Les MIles robot after a week of hammering the essentials of a 50's style offense

I am very concerned that his 2nd qtr performance may be due to not having to prepare. After halftime it looked like he had been coached up err I mean down

A smart coach would tell him he's the starter Saturday to give him a week to adjust and prepare mentally.

Practicing handing the ball off never hurts

Maybe, but that isn't a popular thought right now.

Jax state might actually be better than miss. state. Miss state did lose to USA, and i think Jax could make that a ball game.

Miss St is better than what they put on the field in week 1

This will be a close game and their QB will give LSU fits running the ball

They very well could be, but they also have a loss to USA and they beat up a team that won 3 games last year.

At most schools - good
At LSU with Miles/Cameron - Disastrously bad

Anthony Jennings came off the bench in 2013 and looked all world...then got first team coaching from Les and Cam.

Brandon Harris came off the bench in 2014 and looked all world...then got first team coaching from Les and Cam. He has steadily regressed ever since.

I think with a week to prepare, Etling can be better than he looked in the second half on Saturday. But I worry that Les and Cam will screw his head up. Maybe his development at Purdue, similar to ZM developing elsewhere, can make him immune to the QB killing effects of Les and Cam.

Is Les hasn't already zapped you of your excitement for LSU football, the rant is there to mop up.

Give him a solid week with the 1's, and I don't see what downside there could possibly be. As far as opposing coach's schemes, they'll just have to prepare to face a balanced offense from LSU for the first time in forever. There is NO downside to Etling outside of his own missteps.

The real gameplan should be hiding Les' playcard and removing the batteries from his headset.

We know that (if Etling is actually going to be the starter) Miles will spend the entire week coaching him to not lose the game rather than coaching him to win it.
