ESPN hates LSU -- Predicts Iowa victory

Outback Bowl
Iowa vs. LSU, Jan. 1 (ESPN, 1 p.m. ET)
Why to watch: Hopefully it will be as exciting as the last time these teams played. In the 2005 Capital One Bowl, Iowa's Drew Tate threw a 56-yard touchdown to Warren Holloway on the final play of the Hawkeyes' 30-25 victory, spoiling Nick Saban's final game as LSU's coach.
Who to watch: LSU freshman Anthony Jennings will start at quarterback after senior Zach Mettenberger tore the ACL in his left knee in a 31-27 win over Arkansas on Nov. 29. Jennings, from Marietta, Ga., came off the bench in the fourth quarter and led the Tigers on a 99-yard scoring drive in the final three minutes, throwing a 49-yard touchdown pass to Travin Dural with 1:15 to go. Jennings completed 4 of 7 passes for 76 yards in the game.
Motivating factor for Iowa: The Hawkeyes already have doubled their victory total from 2012, improving from 4-8 to 8-4. They can win nine games in a season for the first time since going 11-2 in 2009.
Motivating factor for LSU: As good as the Tigers have been under coach Les Miles, they haven't fared well in the postseason lately, losing three of their past four bowl games. LSU lost to Clemson 25-24 in the Chick-fil-A Bowl after last season.
Pick: Iowa 24, LSU 21

So losing 3/4 of our last postseason games is their reasoning for why we will lose to Iowa?

I have a feeling we blow them out
I think Jennings is going to be hell on defenses

I think they might be right. I hope not but our bowl record over the last 4 years have not been very stellar.

I think so too. I think the fans and the team are going to be ready for this game.

How could you blame them with a true fresh QB Jennings. Yes, we know what he is capable of but I'm not getting my hopes up too much due to the 99 yard drive. Although they have LSU losing, I predict Jennings to play great leading LSU to victory.
LSU - 31
Iowa - 17

No worries we are starting a true freshmen QB with no game experience.

OMG HOW COULD ANYONE PICK LSU TO LOSE???!!!
Posted on 12/21/13 at 9:22 am to Shanesix
We either blow then out or they win a close one. It all depends if we show up to play or not. If we show up like we did against Ole Miss, they will rip our hearts out and shite down our neck.

What freaking ever.....
LSU wins big. We got humbled this year.
Reasons we win
1. Cats wanting to leave early will play hard to solidify or raise draft stock
2. Jennings and Cam will be breaking in new offensive stuff.
3. Young guys on D know we have very tough competition coming in and they will have to show they should keep spots.

That worked great last year…

I doubt that this team will not take this game seriously. Hawkeyes are goin down.

Ok, keeping in mind this seems to be your job (taking shots at posts)full time, I'll respond.
Do you think the JR's last year were at much risk of changing their stock?
Most of them had very good years and were on a highly touted unit. This years underclassmen, not so much.
But hey, you guys know everything so there's no chance the underclassmen think they have something to prove.

I predict a Jordan Jefferson freshman year bowl performance. He was 16-25 for 150 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for about 35 yards. We leaned heavily on the running game and won 38-3

No way, the rant says we lay down so that means it will happen.

Never said we'd lay down but your reasons why we win are kind of dumb. I think we win because we're a better team.

So do you think there are different circumstances for the underclassmen this year?
