In fact, if you examine the top six seasons by running backs in conference history, Fournette is ahead of each player’s pace after three games. Only one (Jackson, with 575 yards in 1985) was within 100 yards of Fournette’s total of 631 yards through three games.
quote:
Right now, he’s on pace to rush for 2,524 yards and 32 touchdowns and average 8.64 yards per carry. That would give him SEC records in all three categories, besting Walker’s 1,891 yards in 1981; Tim Tebow's and Mason’s 23 TDs in 2007 and 2013, respectively; and Nick Chubb’s 2014 average of 7.06 yards per rush.

It would also allow Fournette to threaten Barry Sanders’ modern-day FBS record of 2,628 rushing yards, set in the 1988 season.

Some of the comments are golden
quote:
Missed tackles by the Cuse behind the line of scrimmage on many plays. Without him Cuse would've won this game..Go Orange!1
quote:
By playing bad nonconference teams and yes, bad SEC Defenses, of course he's gonna run all over the field. He's good, but clearly these inept defenses will make Leonard shine.
quote:
The way Miles is using him - leaving him in late in game when he already has over 200 yards-suspect injury will overtake him. In the Auburn game they actually put him back on the field after he was taken out with an injury. You don't run Secretariat hard every day.

I fChubb had the carries that Fournette has he'd be 240 yds ahead of Fournette right now according to my figures.

I am not particularly an LSU fan. I appreciate good football, and LSU is always a good team. Having said that, I have seen some of the greats play. I held season tickets to UK for years. I watched all the Mannings(yes, Archie included), Walker, Smith, Jackson, Collins, etc. if this Fournette kid does not win the Heisman, they should stop giving it out. I have not seen any better offensive player at any time.

only thing that can stop LF is lightning

Old school rushing...9.9 yards and a pile of bones vs 4 yards and a cloud of dust.

The hype is real...I can finally say that about an LSU football player

This kind of joy and treat in football comes around only a couple times

LF has exactly 2 more carries than Chubb.

I chortled out loud on that one
Posted on 9/28/15 at 3:15 pm to Brageous
I laughed because I think the difference is only like 2 or 3 carries

Chubb averages 120 yards a carry!!!

Chubb has two less attempts and 40 less yards than Fournette at this point.
Another thing, and I posted this in another thread... In Barry Sanders' 1988 rushing record season, he had 8 more yards than Fournette on two or three less carries through his first three games that season. That included rushing for 304 yards in his third game that year.
Fournette could be well ahead of that pace after losing an 80+ yarder to a debatable penalty.

Now imagine if Fournette had been able to play that first game.

The hype is real? Dude have U checked out NFL rosters lately. If any college athlete turns pro and makes a roster for a few years then the hype is for real
Posted on 9/28/15 at 3:19 pm to ForeverLSU02
I hope these penalties don't come back to haunt LF
