Good read.

Communication, football smarts make LSU's Dave Aranda very special

let's not forget the talent he'll work with at LSU will be as good as he has seen. He'll likely be able to take advantage of two key elements -- speed and pressure -- more than ever before.

Damn it...a speck, a glimmer, a smidgeon of hope that will grow to all out, full emotional investment in football over the next eight months leaving me once again vulnerable to the 99 yards of total offense bitch slap.

I am really excited about this guy. I suspect he will bring out a monster that has been bursting at the seams for guidance.

That's a great article. Thanks for posting it.

I especially liked this paragraph:
quote:

Also, Aranda isn't afraid to listen to his players’ ideas. Wisconsin cornerback Darius Hillary told me that before the Minnesota game that some guys in the secondary asked Aranda about allowing the cornerbacks to be more aggressive so the safeties could play more over the top. Two days later, Aranda installed a coverage based specifically on his players' feedback. Wisconsin intercepted three passes against Minnesota.

This was as good of a hire as we could've hoped for. If he's as good as everyone seems to think he is I hope LSU can keep him around long enough to become the next HC
