Sam Khan: "For the 2016 season, give me LSU's roster for several reasons, but one big one: the presence of college football's best player -- Leonard Fournette -- on said roster."

"I look at the strength of LSU's junior class, headlined by the likes of Fournette, Harris, safety Jamal Adams, receivers Malachi Dupre and D.J. Chark, defensive tackle Davon Godchaux, who all signed with the 2014 recruiting class and will be key to the Tigers' ability to make an SEC title run this season. I see a senior class led by stalwarts such as cornerback Tre'Davious White, receiver Travin Dural, center Ethan Pocic, and linebacker Kendell Beckwith. I see young talent ready to take the next step like offensive linemen Maea Teuhema and Toby Weathersby, or a star in the making as a pass-rusher in Arden Key. Oh, and I didn't even mention Fournette's backup, sophomore running back Derrius Guice, who is a load for opposing defenses to handle."

"Most years it's easy to pick the Tide. This year, give me the Tigers' talent."

I think we have better top end talent on this year's team, but I don't think we have the elite depth like we did on that team. We went two deep at almost every position in 2011

Aranda vs Kiffen will be interesting.

Based on the numbers of players in the NFL, LSU has had the edge for several years. The BIG difference is on the sideline.

We will go two deep at every position this year.

Everyone says Linebackers, but with the new 3-4 scheme its addition by subtraction.

Also WR, DB, RB depth are all sick.
We have more QB depth than 11.
Im not saying 16 will most certainly be better, but we have much more on Offense then 11 had.

Aranda is LSU's answer for beating Alabama, and the LSU offense seems to be expanding its playbook. It all spells SEC Title.

No the difference is LSU finally got stud players to return their senior season and has far more experience to go along with talent on both sides of the ball.

The difference is we were able to keep juniors from leaving and the talent of incoming juniors.
Could be really young again next year.

We are as deep everywhere on the field to be considered a top 3 team. If Harris plays to the ability and experience we should win the SEC and play in the Playoffs

This year hinges more on the defense than Harris. He can be simply a game manager with the defense being lights out and we still win it all.

And the OL. Really, the lines on both sides of the ball, but I think the DL will be improved. The secondary is ridiculous...

Ala has had no 1 recruiting classes, but judging by the views of these two SEC reporters, LSU and Ala are basically equal. If Ala has recruited better, than LSU coaches obviously develop players well. So your opinion of LSU's coaching is off base.

Great point I have said this for some years now. Led coaches to prepare the players for the pros and saban prepares them to when now. What do you want in a program is the answer

We need to score to beat Bama not the other way around. We have held their offense in check for the most part until the fourth quarter. I'm way more worried about Harris against their D

If Harris plays like he us capable after 2 yes in they can't put 8-9 men in a box that would help.
