Will he be eligible to redshirt? Is this a dumb question?

Replaced by his non-union, Australian equivalent.

He can't redshirt.

I'm still really excited about him. I was reading and watching highlights of him the other day. He excelled in the nba camps in the 1/2 court games.

His high school coach just left him on the defensive end of the court and chose to run the other 4. He's a good passer b/c of this, but his ability to run the court is absolute shite.

I think he'll be a great force for us in 2 years and a solid contributor next year

Got passed up. I honestly think we are much better with Darcy in the game.

We can still run offense through him and he does play pretty good defense. He can body up a big guy well. He needs to learn to stay vertical a little better on defense. At 7', you can afford to stay vertical and not get fouls called on you, but 15 minutes a game from him is a HUGE help.

He hasn't turned the ball over since joining the starting lineup which is great!

I agree, I don't understand the hate he gets on here.

South - Do you know the basketball redshirt threshold? Not that you don't have a 'real' job to do or anything

Last night, the block/charge call that went against him was utter nonsense. He needs to quit buckling at the waist and/or reaching out with his hands up prior to contact to ensure he gets those calls in the future.

For an athlete to receive a standard redshirt, the NCAA requires that player not be involved in any competition for the year he is redshirted. Any amount of competition time, even 1 minute on a basketball court during a regular season game, for example, counts as a season of eligibility.

Redshirted athletes are allowed to travel, practice and even dress for competition for their team during their redshirt season, but the minute they step on the playing field, they lose their redshirt status and use a season of eligibility.
