Bizarre move. Guess he realized basketball isn't in his future and would rather just get the degree.

Worsham thinks he's going to transfer after he graduates

I believe it is possible Elbert could get a medical exemption and be able to transfer once he graduates.

In a respectful way, Wade probably told him he'd never see the court.

They probably worked out a deal with him to keep his scholarship for one more year. A lot of people saw this coming.

"Medical reasons" Can't both sides just be honest about the situation?

Pull a Nick Saban by getting him a medical RS and freeing up the scholarship.

Wish the best for the guy. Hopefully, he can get his degree and play college ball for another year.

Elbert seems like a good dude. Hopefully he gets his degree and does great things off the court

Kid gave it his all. Best of luck to him.

Not to be callous but I'm intrigued to see how Wade uses the free roster spot.

I'm thinking it's going to be a pretty Bigby pickup.

Why are we excited about a guy averaging 4/3?

Glad he is going to graduate it seems. No shade for a young person. He really has no future playing ball, glad he has realized that.

Wait how is it bizarre? Many figured he'd be the one to get the axe anyway

Usually guys will give it one last shot even at a smaller school. Look at Darcy...
