Gilmore was consistnely blown off the ball by one man. Alexander, however, regularly beat his guy. Here's a great example:

Alexander takes on the center and chip block from the guard, pushes the center a yard into the backfield, and then helps make the tackle for no gain..

And here's Gilmore getting pushing two yards off the LOS by one man on 4th and 1:

He and Valentine need to be in on run downs with Gilmore in on passing downs IMO..

For sure. I think this has been looked over with all the QB talk that's been going on. I thought for a freshman he looked pretty damn good Saturday night.

Nice. He was all business. Helmet didn't move an inch until the snap.

He is a grown man.

His size is impressive for his age!

Rashard Lawrence played well too. Gilmore will probably get fewer snaps as the season moves along.

Gilmore has been terrible so far

On the Wisconsin 2nd half TD drive, Badgers ran up the middle 4 straight times and Gilmore got sealed blocked by 1 man on 3 occasions and got knocked to the ground on the 4th. I don't think Gilmore played a snap the rest of the game

Not exactly something you want to see from your nose in a 3-4 scheme

I wonder if Gilmore might transition to DE in this scheme as the season goes on?

Gilmore does not have the strength or physicality to be a nose tackle.

I like Valentine and Alexander at nose.

Someone mentioned that Rashard Lawrence played well and I agree with that. He'll get even better as he gains more experience.

I also noticed Herron getting some snaps and I like what I saw out of him. I prefer him on run downs over Neal.

They oughtta have a nickname for that class that had 6-8 out of state DL that never lived up to the hype.

Gilmore is by far the weakest link on the DL...mop up duty only...another reason to not trust the stars...TV and big ED should be able to hold down the DT...DE might be an option if injuries occur...
