Playing 2 top teams coming out the gate is tough. Georgia played well on Clemsons home field. Losing to the Gamecocks would be a big punch in the guts. Any title hopes would be gone. Much like after the Bama loss was to LSU last year. That means just playing for pride. They will be bumped and bruised big time. But with an easy week prior to our game, they should have some time to heal. This is going to be a real test for our young Tigers.

Having watched a little of the Georgia game Saturday against Clemson, it is clear that the Georgia offense will be strong again this year. They have arguably the best QB and Tailback in the SEC in Murray and Gurley.

This was always the game that worried me the most.

Their playmakers are going to be a challenge to stop, especially on the road.

We will have to win a shootout IMO, and doing that in Athens may be too much to overcome.

Looking forward to a great game.

Auburn will have a long season. Their QB just isn't ready for prime time.

If they lose to USCe they'll quit.

Completely disagree. I've lived in GA for more than a decade and have gotten familiar with UGA teams (and REALLY dislike all things Dawg). If they lose to USCe they will see beating us as their one road to redemption. If they beat USCe then they will get their heads all swolled up and be an easier target. Mark Richt teams are pretty mentally unstable but kinda predictable.

John Chavis will be earning his paycheck preparing for this game. At times the defense looked confused against TCU. It looked like guys were in position to make a play but were tentative for some reason. I know it was the first game but team speed on defense is a step slower than last year. Losing so many to the NFL explains that. The defense will need to come together a lot between now and Georgia game if LSU has legitimate shot at upset in Athens.

Experience has a lot to do with this, I think.

We need more confidence. Having Mathieu on the 2010-11 teams made a HUGE difference. The guy was fast and fearless. We need that out of our LBs right now.

LBs were very disappointing this past game.

GA is still a threat. Mitchell may be gone and Jj may not be on defense this year, but GA ALWAYS has talent.

I don't disagree but I see it as a single issue. Let those young guys get another game or two under their belts and they'll be Chavisswarming the ball like always.

Hope you are right and a couple of guys become the "Flyers".... just didn't see much of it Saturday even though they looked ok on defense. Just "ok" could make for a very long hot day in Athens later this month.

Agree. This is the game I worry about the most. I do think it will come down to the wire but the advantage is for the home team. I expect their backs to give us fits.

Mitchell tote his ACL. He's out for the season.

Big advantage for Lsu. He was a good run blocker.

25-2 against untangled opponents and 3-11 against ranked teams.

Miles will have LSU untangled by the UGA game.

I'm looking forward to seeing them against USC this weekend. That should be a great game and show us what we can expect in a few weeks.

We need the secondary to play well and not make mistakes. I think LSU is 2 scores better than UGA
