Dylan Williams - Where is he now?

I remember this guy was a pretty highly-touted pitcher coming out of HS, committed to LSU, and then he got arrested once for drugs and then again in a Jeremy Hill situation.
Wonder if he gets another shot next year...?

Paul wont take a flyer on him after his latest offense. He'll probably go play for USL though and go 12-0 with 16 saves and 13 HRs.

Williams never enrolled at LSU because his admission was denied due to the pending legal charges, and wound up at Georgia Perimeter Junior College, where he has pitched in seven games this season, with three starts and two victories. He has pitched 19 innings and allowed just a 1.89 earned run average, while recording 20 strikeouts.

Although Williams would be eligible to enroll at LSU now, that seems unlikely. He is draft-eligible after this season, and with the size and velocity most scouts like, the big right-hander could head to pro ball.

Holy cow... Paul needs to get in this guy's ear about at least coming down for a season

Didn't some new charges come up against him as well, I think he indicated he was headed to jc with goal of leaving for draft

First it was drugs, second it was statutory - I refuse to even call anything consensual "rape."
He could be a big help with all the arms we're losing next year.

If i'm not mistaken, Paul stood by the kid for a while when the charges were pending. Williams maintained his innocence, and Paul stuck with him. Then it came out that he was more heavily involved than he let on and Mainieri had no choice but to let him go. Then a couple months later, the investigation concluded that Williams was in fact a bystander and not charged with anything. Fast forward, and he is playing strong at the JUCO level and is likely to go pro after getting drafted.
As for LSU, I haven't heard if an LSU offer to come back is even on the table.

Well IMO they need to put it on the table. We could use a strong JUCO pitcher next year.

I'll be okay if he never plays for LSU.
Anyone remember Kevin Koziol? He was at LSU for a semester, got a DUI and was booted. I think Mainieri was right (gasp) to have cut ties with him right away. After reading more stuff about him and his family, real pieces of work.

Every situation is different. Look at Hill - completely different outcome.

Wha? Dude was arrested for ecstacy and weed and then later for Stat Rape. He gone. Luckily he never even made it on campus. Obviously the kid hangs with losers and makes terrible decisions.

I don't think that was the only problem they had with him that semester.

Children do not have the capacity to consent.

If it's statutory, one of the parties is too young to give consent. By definition, sex without mutual consent is rape. As such, statutory rape is the proper term.

Lol, Im not saying its morally right or a good decision at all for 14 year olds to be having sex - I don't think it is.
But to say a high school student is incapable of giving consent is laughable.
