I don't have links to the second half so this all pertains to the first two quarters. Anyone with link to 3rd and 4th quarters post them please.

Dwayne Thomas had near perfect coverage on every single play of the first two quarters. He had one pass completed on him the first half. A long bomb down the sideline to boone.

DT was running stride for stride with him and Jennings made a perfect throw that dropped out of the sky straight down between the Boone and the sideline. Perfect pass even at the pro level amazing.

And it is not like DT was not forcing Boone near the sideline either. Boone was very very close to the sideline so it can't be argued that DT was allowing a large gap there for Jennings to throw too.

Very impressed. He had another pass thrown his way deep and he broke it up with perfect coverage and another that he had perfect coverage deep and the WR caught the ball but had to run a full yard out of bounds to do it.

Jennings was looking DT way and coverage force jennings who was under pressure to throw the ball out of bounds to keep from getting sacked.

Another play DT had to follow his guy deep and then all the way across the field and Jennings threw to him but it was incomplete. Threw it out in front to far to be caught. DT was right in his hip pocket making for a window about the size of the football... no realistic chance to complete that with that coverage... esp. since Jennings was on the move when throwing. He put it out front which is a good play by jennings actually.

Very impressed with 13 Dwayne Thomas.

Guerin not Thomas.

I noticed Holmes as well but haven't analyzed his play yet. Thomas was the first one I have done.

Thomas is a good cover CB. Needs to get a little more physical when tackling, but he can blanket a WR.

I wasn't expecting too much out of Holmes considering he's only played CB for a year, but he impressed me as well.

And when you add White to the CB mix, that position is starting to shape up nicely.

Very impressed with 13 Dwayne Thomas.

So was I. He had perfect position in coverage. He displayed great footwork and good ball skills. Beyond the Jalens he is our best corner.

As a side note, Holmes looked better than I thought he would. I was confused that Raymond wasn't out there bc I didn't see his name on the injured list. I can only assume he is running track full time this Spring. That, of course, begs the question of why Holmes isn't.

Without question the most impressive play on the field that day.

Thanks for the write-up

I completely agree with your assessment. I was very impressed with his play in the first half. Good to see a Louisiana boy coming into his own. I can't wait to see how the defensive backfield looks in the fall.

Always thought DThomas was going to be the DB in last yrs class to break out as a FR. Then JMills ended up being that guy, but I really love Thomas' talent.

The white roster on the hand out didn't have a 13. So he really doesn't get credit. Just kidding! I thought all the scholarship DB's played well.

Yes, I noticed that Holmes seemed to play some pretty solid football. He certainly has outstanding speed and if he can continue to develop his coverage skills, could contribute.

Thomas was rated pretty high as a prep DB, but it was nice to see him also have an impressive spring game performance.

For some reason I think his career at LSU will be similar to Ron Brooks.

DT the forgotten one. I was wondering how he was going to do in the SG, but I'm pleased with his performance as well.

He is only going to get stronger and faster.
