I stand by "they made it 5 yrs in a row", and never won a game there. But at least they made it and I don't like Conn getting credit for being the only one....

Not crazy. One year they just blew it against Tennessee.

But really the problem was when we had Augustus, we had no inside game and Sylvia Fowles was young. By the time Fowles became dominant the outside game wasn't as much anymore.

Women's BB can be determined by one or two players more than almost any level since there isn't a whole lot of top tier talent. LSU only had just enough to get there but never to win it except perhaps the one year I mentioned.

Wikipedia:

In his first year as coach, Chancellor led the Lady Tigers to the SEC regular season championship. The Lady Tigers were runner-up in the 2008 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament and made the NCAA Final Four for a fifth consecutive year. LSU joined Connecticut as the only two schools ever to reach five consecutive Final Fours.

According to Wiki (yeah, I know, it's Wiki), It has been done before:

UConn - 2000-2004

Stanford - 2008-2012

LSU - 2004-2008

More crazy that they didn't even win a game, but I think that the team we have now shoots 3 pointers and rebounds.... Maybe we will break that trend..........

That was painful. Up one point UT inbounded the pass with a couple of seconds left and one of their players was completely unguarded for an easy short jumper.

1st year: The year LSU lost to Tennessee in New Orleans....LSU would have been skull-drug vs. UConn (they crushed Tennessee as well)

2nd year: Lost to Baylor. Had a double-digit lead in the first half, but Baylor poured it on and LSU went cold. Could have beaten Michigan State in the championship

3rd/4th year: Got the shite kicked out of them by Duke and Rutgers.

5th year: Tennessee hits layup at end to win it. I will go to my grave believing that if we had pressured Candace Parker as she brought the ball up, they don't score and we win that game AND beat the shite out of Stanford for the title. This one probably hurt the most because it was clear at the time that the window of opportunity was closing that year for a while (and I was right, unfortunately)

Still hurts the most. I remember thinking the worst that could happen on that inbounds was we go to OT.

I credit Summitt for outcoaching Pokey on that one. They sprung a trap on Temeka that we weren't expecting. IF Temeka gets out of the trap....we probably have numbers and make an easy basket. IMO, Summitt rolled the dice and hit the jackpot.

We tried, we had a girl running to trap, but Parker was to fast for the girl guarding her and we never got her turned. She just sprinted down the sideline and to the goal with two defenders chasing her from behind.

I was furious that we let Parker go coast to coast. Should have double teamed her on the inbound and never let her touch the ball. Hindsight, of course.
