Downward trend and Bama

If we lose this game to Bama, none of you pumpers will ever be able to refute the notion of a downward trend. We will be slowly on our way to being like Tennessee or Ole Miss to them -- or Us when DiNardo was around.

Yes, because losing to the #1 team in the country and back-to-back national champions is certainly a sign of a downward trend.

I've been critical of Miles and Chavis, but I disagree w/ your sentiment, to an extent. I don't necessarily see a "downward trend." What I see is a program in the best, most competitive division in the best,most competitive conference. That means, there is no margin for error. You slip up once, make a mistake (or slip up twice, make a mistake twice ... like the shitty defensive gameplans in our two losses) you're out. When the competition is Alabama and Saban, they'll make you pay. Les is a good coach. But, compared to Saban, he's too slow to recognize, and address, problems -- coaching staff problems. How is that a problem? It's a problem, b/c timing is everything. How is it that Saban can marry up together in one season a great offense and defense, while Les has a great offense one season, a so-so defense, or a great defense and a so-so offense. It's not by accident. It's attention to detail.
I see LSU staying around where they are presently ... competitive year in and out, in the hunt, but..... with the inevitable slip-up.
Is that good enough?

ole miss downward trend kind of went up a bit last saturday when they handed us our second defeat of the year in SEC play. Freeze's recruting classes of late have been very good. I admit thought about two years ago i asked in a post why did ole miss stay in the SEC since they were so bad. My bad!! Right coach right recruiting clases and you are a contender. Vice versa as well.

Yeah, actually us "pumpers" will absolutely still be able to say our program isn't on a downward trend. You should try and read a book about the history of LSU football, look at what other programs are doing, etc. Perspective makes you look way less idiotic.
Side note: Anyone else find it funny that people who choose to have a positive outlook about a frickING GAME are now demonized, called names and mocked?
