You guys do realize that Leonard Fournette was in the top 25 in the nation and 2nd in the SEC in avg yards per kick return with 26.0 yards per return, right?
But outside of ND, he never threatened to take one to the house

This is an ignorant statement. Kick returns for touchdowns are rare (in relation to how many kickoffs there are in a game). The point of the return man is field position. If you return a kick, your goal is to take it past where the ball is placed for a touch back. Lf is a threat to return it to the house but the primary goal is field position. Touchdowns are just a bonus

That's because no one is threat to take it to the house a lot. It's rare for a kick return

Hand or lazer don't care, their still fast.

I was going to edit my post, because I realized it was unclear. What I was trying to say was, he never broke through the initial wave of defenders. Obviously, no one is a threat to take it to the house a lot.

U can't be serious go and watch some before u claim that as fact

He was 23rd in the entire country in yards per return and end in the sec

I get it, we are supposed to arrange the words of your sentence around so it will actually make sense.

I should have just said that I think we have more dangerous return men and left it at that. If returning kicks was part of his recruitment, then I'm good with that.
His size/speed combo as a RB is elite, but I think we have players who accelerate faster and would be better suited to return kicks.
That is all.

Donte
Guice
Chark
Fournette
Would be a legit 4x100 team

Which is why I said .75 and 1 INCH.
Huh? In your link, you said most were .75 - 1 inch increase... And only 9 players on that list had an increase of 1 inch or lower. So most players had an increase greater than 1".
And please link to me where I said Martin is 6'10? I just went through some of my posts on him and said he will measure in between 6'9-6'10 at the combine, which he did. And I did point out that 1 or 2 sites reported him as 6'10, but said there isn't a big difference between 6'9-6'10 and that we would find out his official height in May...

Hopefully someone else besides Fournette returns kicks this season. I don't care about his average, he lacks vision. He picks a hole and flies into it like he was shot out of a cannon, and if there happens to be a 250 lb linebacker in that hole, he hits him head-on. That might be fine as a running back, but on a return against guys with a 30 yd running start, that's an injury waiting to happen.
No need to do this with the guy you want to key your offense around.

Points well taken. I think LF's running style is PERFECT for our style of offensive play and philosophy, and maybe not so much for returns. He is a north/south downhill runner and that is a good thing for what we do!
I for one DO beleive Donte could have run a 4.25 hand time. I think there are several on this team that are running sub 4.4 hand times (they may not post on in Twitter, but it is still happening!), as some of them did so when they were recruits at LSU camp with the same LSU coaches timing them.

ALOT less than that. .1% of the human population is still like 7 million people

It was auto correct.
It was supposed to be," he was 23rd,in the entire country,in yards per return and 2ND in the sec.

So what you're saying is that you don't care about facts ( the fact that LF was one of the best KO return men in the country) and your opinion outweighs facts that are backed up by stats?

You act like this isn't what he is supposed to do when he returns kicks. Coaches don't want you moving lateral on kick offs.

That's why you are taught to run north and south and not side to side.

I agree that LF should not return kicks this year. Too risky.
I like Donte, Chark, Quinn, and Guice on punts and KR's.

I'll bet that when DJ gets his hands on that first kick return in Death Valley with 100+ thousand watching he's going to show us all we need to know about his speed. No one will be arguing then!
