Tweet from Mark Ethridge managing editor of SEBASEBALL.com

Starting to get dicey @CS_Baller: @sebaseball how worried should LSU fans be if a couple of mid-major conferences get an auto bid in addition to at large??? Ex. MVC, BigEast

We need to be big Gator fans now and hope some of these clubs that need two wins to win their tourny's do so!

Do you think LSU gets in before MSU, Bama, and Ole Miss?

I would think we would be ahead of Ole Miss and Miss. St.

To many upsets happening in conference tourny's to make me feel to good about our chances right now though!

Alabama now has more losses than either.

Not saying you're wrong though. I think LSU, MSU, & Bama are all pretty close together in the NCAA "at large" queue.

Dont see a legit argument for either Mississippi school.
Bama will probably get in over us.

Why Bama over MSU?

Resumes are pretty similar. Mainly going off what BA and Sebaseball are saying now. This is what sebaseball said about the ranking:

quote:

The 0-2 Hoover showing may drop them behind LSU in the SEC pecking order. For what its worth, the SEC Regional pecking order would look like this: 1. South Carolina 2. Florida 3. Vanderbilt 4. Arkansas 5. Alabama 6. LSU 7. Mississippi State 8. Ole Miss

The SEC is rated as the top conference RPI wise. They are getting 8 in and with Auburn ineligible, LSU is part of that 8.

While, I would tend to agree with you, alot of crazy things are happening in conference tourny's around the country that are slowly taking up at large bids!

We, need Florida to beat Georgia tommorow and I think we are certainly in!

Otherwise we need to root for teams like: James Madison, Rice, Kent St., Uconn and TCU to win their conference tourny!

Ole Miss cannot feel comfortable about being the 8th team.

Why is Auburn inelegible?

They paid a couple of their players 200K

Nah, they finished with a .500 record. Have to have a winning record to be eligible.

If James Madison doesn't win the Colonial, they won't get an at large bid. Their strength of schedule is not good and their RPI is in the 50's.

You getting that # from Nolan? Boydsworld has LSU at 26, so I would say an educated guess would be 24.

Everyone is getting nervous about these midmajor conferences getting an at large in addition to an automatic bid, but the thing is there are at least 10 bubble teams that are lower on the pecking order than LSU.

Yeah I'm getting a little concerned. I'd probably put our chances at 75% right now.

Those are from this past Monday.

We, will just have to wait and see.

I will feel better if and when at least some of these teams that are supposed to win their tourny come back and do so.

Go with Boyd because he is more accurate when you compare it to the NCAA. Nolan uses just the base RPI calculation, but there are certain bonuses that NCAA factors in that Boyd has pretty closely replicated.
