I mean, he was the one who recruited Miles here thinking he could coach, right?

True that Skip recruited Les. Also true that Les has been here long enough to be responsible for himself. Not a big fan of Skip as an AD....He ran off the most successful college coach of ANY sport....Pat Henry. Skip also ran off Pokey (another highly successful coach). I'll never forget Les' very short pregame press conference at the SEC championship game where he told everyone he was staying at LSU (not leaving for Michigan as ESPN was reporting). After Les finished the presser with his famous "have a nice day," there was silence in the room....except for a singular weird laugh by Skip. Seemed strange and out of place, especially for an AD. I love Skip as a coach and especially some of the jokes he would tell at National Signing Day.

Well blame Saban for leaving us on Christmas Eve...giving Skip little time to find a coach.

that was awful day....

Les has won 132 games thus far...

I'd say Les has been successful, but he is slipping backwards the last few seasons and it's time to get a new coach, with fresh energy and ideas to adapt to a changing landscape in CFB.

All in all, Les has been a great hire...

But it's time

The sooner Miles leaves, the better is legacy record.

This is a reference to a quote from Skip about his pitcher after a poor performance. Paraphrasing, "it's not the kid's fault, I'm the one that recruited him."

Saban left for the NFL. Can't fault him for that and he finished the season out.

Skip/coach hiring committee had plenty of time to find someone other than Les.

Pokey was rightfully ran off. Jesus. She was fricking a player. That's a line that you, as a university, cannot allowed to be crossed.

Possibly, but there were a bunch of folks in the "would be another Mike Archer" camp.

That is the reason Saban is at Alabama.
That same attitude Michigan State is also the reason Saban left Michigan State and came to LSU.

Don't be a retard. Miles is the GOAT LSU coach. The game has passed him by and it's time for him to go. But don't pretend like the whole 12 years were a failure. I hope the next coach can equal what he accomplished here.

Saban would have been back at LSU if it were not for Skip. Saban actually loved it at LSU. He got the finger from Skip, so Nick gave the finger back and went to Bama. You know the rest of the story.

I mean he was the only one we could get back then, right????

Everyone thinks that every coach is sitting around just waiting for that phone to ring from LSU. Miles was the best we had a choice of back then.

this is all true, but how do you fire a coach (Miles) for the only reason of rehiring the coach that left you? Has that ever happened before in history?
