This is not meant to be a knock on Alexander in anyway, but when he came out of Karr, everyone was upset that we didn't sign his 2 teammates not excited that we signed Donnie. Donnie has come in and put in the work. He's gained the weight.

Here's to hoping that he has a Debo like ending to his career here at LSU!

Listed at 6'1 215. In the pics from yesterday, there was a definite weight gain to me from last year. He and Debo both came in from highschool around 200-205

Have to admit I was shocked when they announced him moving to ILB. The dude was, well, skinny last year. Thought he would stay at OLB and Duke Riley would move inside.

Not the OP, but.

He played more last year than anybody expected. Started for Debo against Cuse, over Louis and Riley. Steele loved his potential and it seems like Aranda sees that same potential. Some players develop over the years and grow to be good players for LSU. Debo, Minter, Barrow, Baker all come to mind of players that developed pretty well going into their upperclassman years.

Debo always looked good to me. His problem was that he was behind Kwon. I never understood, why one of them didn't take the Sam spot under Chavis. Louis and Welter did their best and will always be Tigers, but it just looked so obvious.

Donnie was like tyrann at LB at karr. Had a nose for the ball and played aggressive.

He looks 230ish in those videos.

So did Voorhies.

Both guys look to have added a ton of weight, which is really good for our LB depth.

ETA:

And Devin White is just fricking massive

Tre White also looks like he bulked up. Meanwhile, Fournette and Williams seem to have cut and look like they want to increase stamina/agility

Yes we hope, but the difference is that Debo should flashes as early as a true freshman. Almost everytime he was on the field, he made plays. The only reason he didn't play more is because a beast like Kwon was in front of him. He wasn't big enough for the other OLB spot plus it was only used half the time at best (we play a ton of nickel).

I can tell you that Donnie is working his arse off and not playing around. He really wants to be a star. It's just a matter of him picking up the scheme and what not. The speed along w/ the physical tools are all there.
