new coach? Some type of affirmative action crap involved here, too?

What does advertising for 30 days have to do with affirmative action?

whatever you are speaking of, i think as long as you give an interview to an african-american then you can sign whoever..
again though, that seems like an nfl thing?

They've been "advertising" it for almost 3 weeks so I think they'll be fine.

No, but Miles gets 30 days notice.

My former company had that rule....they still ended up hiring some director's cousin.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, that is a state Route for all state jobs in Texas. I remember something about it when they were hiring Strong.

And I would guess that the clock is already running, and has been for at least a few days.

They should just interview Johnny Jones as the token applicant since he's already on campus.

Yeah, it's a job at a public university so they have to go through the state bid process and job goes to the lowest bidder just like professors.

LSU does not have to advertise the position. Advertising is no longer required for Public jobs in Louisiana. The law was changed a few years ago as part of Jindal's ethics changes.

Exactly. I bet it doesn't have to happen the other way around. Stupid as hell and really a waste of someone's time when you usually know who you're gonna hire anyways.
