No, his best friends on the team are Juniors and Seniors and they want to win a championship and begin pro ball.

His signing bonus next year wouldn't be higher no matter what he would do.

After seeing how much this years seniors improved their stock, it would be dumb not to. A lot can change in a year and Pap could improve his hitting.

Not as a Sr. He's going to be taken soon based on his defense alone

But they aren't getting much more (if any) signing bonus money for returning. They have no leverage as a senior being drafted. No point in staying if you are getting the same amount of money and the caliber of talent on the team drops.

6'4", 225, nice arm, finally hitting well...a tad shocked he hasn't been taken yet

Me too. Maybe the scouts want to see him in a full season without Mainieri fricking with his ABs as a switch hitter.

I agree with that. There is no way of knowing if another year will help get him more money. I believe he will be gone as well

I think he should. He reminds me a lot of Diechman honestly. Surged late in the year with his bat. If he has a big year with the bat next year then he will go in upper rounds next year for sure.

Draft expert on Moscona's show yesterday said Pap wasn't even in draft projections.

Deichmann picked up a cool million by coming back for a year. For what Pap would pick up in a year, it's worth coming back.

Deichmann this year was a RS Sophomore so he can tell a team I'm going back to school if I don't get this.

Papierski next year will be a senior, if a team drafts him in 2018 his only option is to take a 25k check.

He will be leaving after this year as long as his name is called.

Not to take away from the seniors who came back because part of the reason they were drafted higher this year is because of their talent and they improved. The other part is a team can take them higher than they normally would so they could sign them for under slot to use the extra money for another draftee.

It can be risky though , even as a late pick

I feel bad for Ibarra

He was drafted but came back then went undrafted

Pap has the size and tools to truly improve his stock though

He'd be a beast next season imo

Prime example - Kramer. Didn't he go from 30th round to 4th round? And he's a senior with no leverage.
