Does Loomis avoid drafting LSU players?

I somewhat wonder if Loomis avoids bringing in LSU players. This could be on Saints board as well.

Anyway, if Lsu averages 8 draftees per year, each nfl team, on average, would take 1 lsu player every 4 years. So the saints would be below average, but not even close to being deliberate. Looms wants to win, and he will pick whomever let's him win.

No, they definitely do not avoid LSU players. It's just a matter of who's the best available at a position of need in a given year. For example, last year, if Vaccaro hadn't been available, the Saints likely would have taken Eric Reid, but anyone who says the should have taken Reid over Vaccaro is nuts. It's got nothing to do with the schools either one came from, Vaccaro was just the #1 safety in the draft last year no question.
I know a lot of people were surprised the Saints picked Vaccaro because everyone thought they were targeting a linebacker like Jarvis Jones, but the Saints were definitely thinking safety all the way. They were happy to let people think they were going after Jones to throw them off the scent. All teams do this. And it worked too. If it had been more obvious that the Saints were going to take a safety, the 49ers would have traded up even sooner since Vaccaro was their #1 choice. Instead, the Saints got Vaccaro without competition, and the 49ers had to trade up just to get Reid.

I can't remember an opportunity in which taking an LSU player at a position of need during this weekend's draft would have been a good decision
