Who is "he" in this scenario? Miles? I don't think that's too far-fetched.

If so you are as dumb as A bucket of snot.................

I have seen one poster on here (A Miles lover) say he could have went 5-2 just like O did....so people just don't get it...

I've seen a bunch of people here on the rant (Miles haters) claim that they (or anybody with a pulse) could have had the same success as Miles had during his 11+ years at LSU....so you're correct....people just don't get it....

Pete Carroll thinks highly enough of him to have encouraged his hiring at LSU.

On a side note, what a 50/50 season, this team needed to get rid of Les, but should be undefeated.

this thread does not even exist if Guice hadn't stutter-stepped towards the wrong hole against Florida from the 1 yard line...

That's possible but the overall offensive production would have been down and our defense would have been on the field for too long

A "thank you" would be nice as well.

But seriously, Orgeron has single handedly destroyed our recruiting class in about 2 weeks and his hiring has set LSU football back at least a decade. Not sure we'll ever make it back from this once it's all said and done.

Can't agree the class is destroyed. A QB is on less firm ground than before, but Dylan Moses is back in picture and Lacouture is 50/50 on staying bc of O. WE will have to see how it plays out before we know for sure.
A decade? Not quite. O will recruit well and work tirelessly. If he does not perform on field, he will leave plenty talent for the next coach.

Tell me the SEC HC who failed badly in his 1st try and got his 2nd try in the SEC without 1st proving he deserved a 2nd try by being a successful HC at another school? And please don't throw out that interim stuff. I talking bout oroving when they gave full authority for a program.

Did BP get a 2nd chance at an SEC or power school? Did LK?

JA and LSU have taken a huge gamble and I think that's the problem for most people in this hire. I think that if anyone had come to this forum and suggested that what LSU should do was to fire miles and replace him with a DL coach, that poster would have been laughed off the forum. But now we actually have people who are suggesting that this was a good decision by LSU and all looking for ways to justify it.

And I have been labeled a sunshine pumper. lol

He was just hired as head coach of the Louisiana State University Tigers Football Team. Yes, he has more smarts than people (the rant) gives him credit for.

Right because according to the rant it's for sure Jimbo... wait Herman.... no Jimbo no matter what you heard, no Jimbo. .. I mean...thesee folks here just know stuff.

I'm sure O has a ton of football smarts and is a very good coach. The problem is he tanked as HC before and even after his two semi successful interim gigs nobody was beating the door down for him. The O hire was just too big of a risk for this critical hire.

You should do research. Can you believe a coach with a worse winning percentage than O in the first 3 years, actually won a national championship? Yep. I'd call that failing worse than O and being a huge success. And it's not Belichick or Carroll. Look up Gene Stallings.

or you could do your research.

Stallings went 14-17 his first three years. each of those seasons he won more games than the previous year. he had a winning record in year 3.

O went 10-21. never improved his record. never had a winning season.

I think Knows how to succeed a lot better today many are giving him credit for. I mean he has to know little bit about football they just don't give head coaching jobs away and yes he had his first one at ole miss at which he failed. Smart people learn from their mistakes. He already knows what he did wrong then he goes to Southern Cal under Pete Carol and learns what it takes to have a great football team. So you take your what you're good at implement it and then what was your failure u learn from one of the best in the business Pete Caroll and implement that. First off you need good defense which he hired The best D coordinator in the business to a three-year extension. you have some of the best athletes at LSU on offense, now all you do is hire the best OC in the business. It doesn't necessarily have to hire Kiffin. They got great offensive minds wanted to come the LSU. then he is one of the best in the business at recruiting talent so I think he's gonna surprise a lot of people
