Does anyone really believe Alleva is watching film with O?
Come on, man. That story is garbage. Meeting to remind O that we're attempting to run the Clemson model and that the coordinators should run their units, sure. Watching film? That's just absurd.

Yes. I believe it. I believe that Alleva and O will do anything to save their asses.

Seems stupid, I agree....BUT

Does anybody believe Alleva would give a 12 mil dollar buyout to a coach who has proven he can't win football games? Cause that actually happened.

Stranger things have happened. Who could've guessed a premier program would hire a career defensive line coach with a 3-21 record in the SEC?

There is an interview with CEO where he makes mention of this. Damned if I can find it now.

Almost everything being said about the whole situation can be traced back to the same source.

CEO himself

This is true.

I guess I can't bring myself to believe that the AD is in there watching film. It defies logic.

I think O made lots of promises as he schemed and politcked his way to the top, now lots of hands are in the cookie jar due to promises made.

I doubt they're film studying together. It's more likely that Alleva just comes in thinking he's showing support and O is so indebted to him for getting the job he doesn't tell Joe to gtfo like a normal coach.

Is it possible that Alleva knowing his days were numbered concocted a backdoor deal with O. To give him a stupid contract and O kick some money back to Alleva. I know it sounds crazy, but no more crazy than anything else. Who hired a career position coach who failed at his only HC job to run a traditional top 10 program.

Hell yea I do. Alleva realizes hes about to get fired for this laughing stock of a program he's created and is doing everything he can to help bail water out the sinking ship.
Hes fricked. He knows it.

it's amazing how many believe this was a bad contract for LSU.

If CEO was to be fired this year it would be due to a morality issue that would void any buyout.

Each year the buyout gets significantly cheaper.

I think Butch Jones has about the same buyout this year as O does and he is in year 6 of his contract.

It just amazes me people think firing CEO is an option at the end of year 1 and that any coach interested in coming here wouldn't think frick that they will fire you after one bad year.

Butch Jones wasn't a proven loser when hired.

That's funny. There are 5 threads every hour on it this week, but no remnants of this from before

If you would have told me, one year ago, that LSU's replacement for Les Miles would be Ed Orgeron I would have told you you're crazy.

This does not sound absurd considering he hired Orgeron in the first place, with a $12 million buyout.

Wait, so giving the D-line coach, who had zero other head coaching offers, has a career 10-25 record as a full time head coach, $3.5 million per year and a $12 million buyout (I don't care how much it decreases per year) is a good contract for LSU now?

is this where we're going?

Brandon at Michigan did this with Hoke when things started to go downward. It's not unheard of.
