Does anyone with any inside info know how Quantavious Leslie is coming along? Has he just gotten lost in the sauce? Is he not as good as everyone anticipated, or is he just taking longer learning Cam's system?

Many here were expecting him to make a much bigger impact than he did. What's the word?

Thanks.

To be fair there was a lot of proven talent in front of him. Beckham and Landry obviously and Dural made some plays this year too. He will get his opportunity to crack the lineup this year.

I suppose we shall just have to wait and see. Having a big target like that in the red zone would be nice.

Came in very undersized. Was having trouble putting on weight. Couldn't get off of blocks.

It's not like he was 18. The kid came in that thin from Juco. He isn't gonna grow a ton. Don't get your hopes up.

For the life of me I can't understand this philosophy. Can't a big target be effective in the other 80 yards of the field? Personally, I'd rather have 2 or 3 Jarvis Landry's in the red zone. Guys that I can zip it into tight coverage and not worry about it bouncing off their hands for an interception.

You don't have to be able to run after the catch. Just jump up and catch it. Having size is a gigantic mismatch in the redzone.

ex... Plaxico Burress not very fast....

Well we may not have ONE Jarvis Landry next season, let alone two or three, hence why I am asking about Leslie.

If he wasn't used this season then he should still be able to claim 2 years of eligibility..like Mett did.

The easiest play to run for a TD inside the red zone is the corner fade to a 6'5 guy getting covered by a 5'11 corner. It's not defendable and we haven't been able to do that since Randle. It's not rocket science. Last year we tried it over and over to a running back. Didn't work too well.

Have seen him in person very recently. I must say, he looked very slim. I believe he weighs 175 or so..? If he could get to at least 190 he could start to get some meaningful PT.

With that in mind can anyone recall seeing him on the field at all this season? I feel like I did see him at some point, but can't quite remember.

@Lsubill
Jarvis Landry's aren't really common. That guy will go down as one of our better receivers ever in quality on the field and off it. It's hard to find people like that, especially at his age.

6'5" guys, though still not easy, seem to be a quicker find than a Jarvis Landry.

He enjoys when "Type of Way" comes on during warm ups

That's what I'm saying. Dude needs to be around 190 and that extra 15lbs should be muscle. Next year, all Jennings will have to do is lob up a touch pass to the endzone. His arm is perfect for that and we have 4 dudes already 6'2+ with hops.
