let me start by saying i think kenny hilliard played great last night and he is a great player. but seeing as how we couldnt get shite going on the ground in the first half with any of the backs do yall really think hilliard is the new number one? i have seen a few articles saying les should lean on hilliard now but i think if the rotation would have put LF or TM in the backfield after their two defenders got hurt and their defense as whole was worn down, they would be labeled as our new #1.

i have no problem with hilliard as our starter but we shouldnt label a #1 back this season imo. let buga learn and he can be our workhorse next year

I though TM looked too heavy. We have had an epidemic of RB's gaining too much weight and losing their effectiveness.

Keiland was the worst in memory, he went from someone with breakaway speed to someone who was not fast enough or physical enough. Others that did this were Ware and Ally (although the injury got him).

Seriously, what difference does it make what people say? We all watched the game. Do you think that you have some kind of special revelation? The cream always rises to the top. Kenny has paid his dues. Be happy for him for any recognition that he gets. All our backs are needed and important. It truly doesn't matter which back has the best game. As long as the Tigers win, let them all have their moment in the spotlight without turning everything into a pissing contest.

Anyone thinking Hilliard should be our #1 is mistaken. He had about 20 yards in the first three quarters. Any of the three running backs would have chewed up big yards on that in drive with holes as big as a couch.

I'm super excited for Kenny. He's showed great heart and character these last two years. I hope he has a fantastic senior year. But I didn't see any difference with him and the other backs last night. The difference was the decision to get out of the I formation and the offensive line.

dont forget justin vincent.

over 1000 yards as a freshman at around 205lbs or less. not nearly as effective at 225+. weights are great and all, and it varies from athlete to athlete, but at some point too much weight is too much weight, muscle or not.

if lifting weights made an athlete then everyone at my gym would be all world instead of just a bunch of guys who can lift a bunch of weight and be in shape.

I sort of agree w/this, with the exception being that I don't think it matters who starts, who's "number 1", or who carries any other label that we throw.

I may have watched the game through buga colored glasses, but what I thought I saw in the first half was 3 backs all pretty much get bottled up. If the three, I actually thought Fournette do "more on his own" than the other two. LF's stats sucked, but be had some losses thrown on there offsetting a couple of extremely tough 3-5 hard runs.

The main thing that excites me about Hilliards performance - and I don't care if the Fournette or Magee could have done what he did or not - was tbe fact that Hilliard can in fact be one of the stable to get it done as good as the others.

It does do my heart good to see him playing as good as he ever has though. You'd pretty well have to be a crappy human being/suck at life to not be happy for him

Looking forward to the RB catches out of the backfield.

From what I remember, the following have good hands:

Connor Neighbors
LF
T. Magee
Melvin Jones

That will be a wrinkle that keeps LB's honest.

Yeah, what's all this #1 or starter. Being the featured back is earned each game.

Imo all of the backs are good. With that being said if we can't get a consistent passing game it's not going to matter. It's extremely hard to run against 8 in the box. But our o-line will be great

Every week the board will scream to play the hottest player of the week before more. If it is McGee, they will, if it is Fournette then they will hang themselves if he does not.
Les has a process, but doesn't use that word, because Nick Saban copyrighted the use of that word in football right after he did, "ai-ight"

LF will get better. He made two/three high school cuts which turned plays into no gainers or less. Cam Cameron will spend time with him in the film room. Watching Hilliard run north south instead of east west was terrific. It won the game for us.
