Does Alleva have the power to strip the play calling from Les?
Posted by TigahBaw on 11/18/15 at 1:26 pm447
Is Alleva allowed to strip the play calling from Les?
I would like to see how we would play these last two games without Les' play calling to truly see if it's Les' fault, or if it's our coordinators fault. This would help us figure out what changes need to be made after this season.

No Miles is HC. The AD has the power to hire and fire.

This is like all the rant's stupidity boiled down into one nice concentrated spoonful of ignorance.

Alleva is actually an offensive genius and will be calling the plays from his box seat for the remainder of the season.

Why would you pay a guy 4.5 million to do nothing? He only hurts. The only reason he should do that and let Les remain coach is if they have no intentions of firing him. Since now they have shown their intentions to possibly fire him, then I think that shouldnt even be thought about.

Go look at Michigan's playbook when Miles played. Same plays.
It's the offensive scheme he likes. Yes he has final say on what play is called.

It doesn't work like that. They can't just change to offense with two weeks left in the season. Les has been sticking his hand in the offense for his entire career. They would likely run the same stuff because thats what system has been taught to these players every offseasn & preseason they've been at LSU.
If they want to change their offense and have expectations of running said offense effectively, then they'll have to implement the system in the offseason. It requires new terminology, new signals, new assignments, new blocking etc.
You can't change all of that in a weeks' time and expect proficiency. Its why even when LSU does try to go up-tempo spread they still look shoddy. Its not because they're not capable, its because they dont practice it enough, and they dont get enough reps, and its not as organized because they've spent less time on it.
