Do you think there is any truth to this

Fournette, like basketball’s Ben Simmons, has about as much chance of graduating from LSU as Les Miles does returning as football coach. Fournette has rushed for 3,373 yards with 35 touchdowns and will be remembered fondly by Tiger partisans, but his work may be done at Death Valley.

Fournette wasn't going to graduate anyway

To be clear, they are saying he will not play anymore this year to preserve his draft status. This is from a well known LSU publication.

Fournette is going to make more money than 99.99% of LSU graduates ever.

No. Simmons mailed it in. Fournette is a different person. He has pride. He'll get healthy and help this team win.

I hope this isn't the case.

What well known publication?

don't compare the two. Fournette probably has a great chance of graduating during the Spring Semester. He's been here for 3 years and will probably get a degree.
Simmons was a primadonna little shite who did not respect his time here and was here for 1 school year and barely attended class at that.
Fournette has been an amazing ambassador for the University. Simmons couldn't wait to leave.
do not equate the two.

I never felt like Ben bought into the team. He was sort of using the team as a means to showcase his talent.
I've always thought Fournette was a team guy. By all reports, he busts his arse in practice and tries to lead by example. I don't think there's any question he's injured more than the staff is letting on. The fact that he has even played shows me how dedicated he is to this team. He could have easily shut it down and not played until he was 100%. Instead, he's been gutting it out. Exhibit A is the fact that he came back in the game at Auburn and finished playing on one foot. If he was truly checked out, I don't think he would have come back in.
