Do you see Trey Quinn eventually transferring?

Had ton of hype in the recruiting process and I know he has talent, but I wonder if he'll be lost in the depth chart his entire career. Dural is probably gone after this season, but Dupre, Diarse, and the emergent Chark will more than likely get the majority of the targets the next couple of seasons.

I know nothing about his background; maybe he's LSU through and through, and I don't think he SHOULD transfer, but I almost feel he'll become a forgotten factor in the receiver corps, and maybe the best thing for him is to get another shot somewhere else.

Based on nothing but Friday-morning-don't-want-to-be-at-work pondering.

Like I said, I don't want him to, but I'm having a hard time seeing him getting really involved in this offense.

Ok. Slightly different question: do you ever see him breaking through?

Are the gloves there any better? He's played a ton as a freshman...it's on him to step up.

I would be if I was him. He would tear shite up next year with Watson and he'll be maybe the 4th WR at LSU next year

Just a guess...but yes.

I really haven't seen him flash great WR skills (speed, route running, hands, explosion). Assuming that doesn't change (he's young. obviously, it's a real possibility that he starts to show the things I listed), it would just make sense for him to move on.

Honestly though, assuming those things don't change, he's not going to play professional football anyway. So, it would come down to how important it is for him to get significant playing time.

Based on what? He was pretty involved as a true freshman.

He was a freshman last year, and contributed a heck of a lot.

I hope not. Hopefully we'll have a different QB this year and be able to involve many players in the offense.

We should be able to run another 20 plays a game with a decent QB. Last year the "run, run, incomplete pass, punt" limited our number of offensive snaps.

Quinn is going to have to make his mark from the slot. Luckily for him, Dupre and Chark are likely your future X and Z with the departure of Dural. Diarse will certainly work into the rotation if he can maintain some consistency with his hands. I like Dupre operating from the inside to get some favorable matchups against nicklebacks and safeties, but I don't foresee that being his regular position.

Quinn's main competition will come from Tyron Johnson and Derrick Dillon. None of the current '16 commits project inside given their size so it stands to reason that these three are the most likely candidates to line up inside.

Johnson should give Quinn a run for his money and then some. I think he is the most college-ready wide receiver we have had come through in a long time. He is a great route-runner with soft hands and some physicality to his game.

Dillon will more than likely be a special teams contributor during his first year or two with the program. However, given his speed he has the potential to ultimately become a major impact from the slot.

If Trey is smart, he'll look at Russell Shepard and James Wright and stay put.

Quinn will be fine. He was wide open a bunch last year as a true freshman. He just had the dropsies. The drop against Bama mind-fricked that poor kid. He'll bounce back.
