We have won the west

Cannot win the overall title

Give the frosh some extra rest and get some other arms some innings and experience before postseason play

Thoughts?

Downvote away....

see below. can still win title. i am dumb. other people are less dumb.

I'd try to keep Walker on schedule, if possible.

Certainly not a bad idea since we can still get a national seed possibly. We need a couple wins in the tournament. I would be okay with it.

would be 5 days until the next game and he wouldn't be pitching that game or the next so no reason to rest him.

Better to keep him in his groove

LSU can share the title with a win. Tie-breakers only come into play for seeding in the SEC Tournament.

If LSU wins today, we are also SEC Champions with Florida. Trophy and everything.

Not the worse idea.

Heard Hanigriff say that Walker has lost a few miles off of his fastball from earlier in the season. Likely from fatigue because he isn't used to having thrown this much in High School.

Yes, we can. The SEC recognizes co-champions in baseball. The head-to-head tie breaker is only used for determining seeding in the SEC tournament.

Being SEC regular season champion will also help our résumé in terms of grabbing a national seed.

So we have to win today to be co champions, correct?

No. National seed is not guaranteed and we are playing for a share of the SEC title. No game can be taken for granted right now.

Yes. Florida is 21-9 in the SEC, and we're 20-9 right now.

I wouldn't hate it if we gave him 40-50 pitches, and used him game 1 of the tourney. However, if we did sit him today, who do we throw? Hess is done for the weekend, Peterson threw 80 pitches Tuesday. Start Bain, go to Gilbert, then...?

Fact of the matter is that we are still in the national seed discussion, and a road sweep of an SEC opponent is a huge RPI boost.

In the end I think you have to throw Walker and figure out Wednesday on Wednesday.
