Do you guys think PC switched up the pitching to mess with our strategy?

or do you think he didn't have confidence in Rassmusen? or do you think he counted his chickens before they hatched.

I really don't know why but it backfired on him so bad

I think Casey was trying to throw us for a loop. Fortunately it just proved that we were in his head and PM knew it. They caved under the pressure.

I think it was both hiding Rassmusen and messing with us last minute. Second worst decision he made this weekend.

Agreed. I think he thought they'd rock Gilbert and wouldn't need to use their best.

I thought they'd start getting to Gilbert around the 5th too before the game started. I had faith he'd come in and give a season best performance but if we'd have had to pull him in the 5th it would have still been a best for him. He surprised the whole country yesterday and OSU paid the price.

They were so overconfident and cocky after the 13-1 win I think they relaxed vs the wrong team. These tigers are fierce and hungry. They were focused and u could see arse holes tightening up early on in the OSU dugout.

Personally think he just had a change of heart. He probably was thinking of using his best bullet (Rasmussen) to start. Then thought, if he or Fehmel struggles as a starter, which one is more likely to come out of the bullpen successfully, and probably thought that would be Rasmussen. So I don't really blame him. I would've started Rasmussen just to avoid having to start the same guy against LSU that throttled them already.

I think his main motivation was to screw LSU over. He is a big time baseball coach. He knows the time and preparation that goes into scouting reports of the other team. He wanted LSU wasting time to prepare their batting game plan for the wrong pitcher.

Saving Rassmusen for the championship series was just an added benefit if he had succeeded in ruining the LSU batting game plan.

Some times things work out and sometimes they don't
