Do we see the 2013 Iowa defense or the 2013 Arkansas defense, Saturday?

IMO, Iowa and Arkansas were very similar teams. Arkansas had better RBs but Iowa had a better OL. Their QB play was comparable. I'd give Arkansas the edge at Wr and Iowa the edge at TE. Arkansas ran for close to 200 yards while Iowa only managed 76 rushing yards. I don't know what changed between those two games. Maybe it was a better rested and more prepared team. Our maybe the youngs guys have improved. I'm leaning towards LSU's defense looking more like the defense versus Iowa. Much, much better safety play was very evident in the Iowa game. They came up strong in run support the entire game and there wasn't any busted coverages. The DTs played their best game even with out Ferguson.

About halfway in between.

Closer to Iowa...better interior play and much better secondary play.

If I had to guess with absolutely nothing to back up my opinion, I'd say Arkansas probably had more team speed than Iowa.

Yeah. I thought the defense was really, really solid versus Iowa. I just hope the young DT can continue to improve. Much of the season our starting DT played entirely to long.

I will say it again like I always do SEC teams are just a different animal. Team speed and depth is what separates us from the majority of the country.

Our defense struggled last year but we shut down Iowa and TCU. What kept them both in the game and close on the scoreboard were our special teams mistakes.

I think we beat Wiscky 28-14. Would be more but the QBs may be shaky again.

Our fans will flip out if that happens

It WILL happen. However, they will continue to improve and our other weapons will carry the team in the meantime.

I can promise you they will improve...this isnt a 2008-2010 problem....we have a real playcaller and QB coach now.

For all the Miles doubters...they should really appreciate the wins we had in that period.

Whenever we have played a big game to start the season, it seems like Miles teams have been ready to go. I expect that Saturday in Houston. I think we will be excited and play hard and win.

Against Arkie last year, we were mostly just standing around on defense.

Hate to keep going back to this but the Bears and Pigs are always excited to play us and our Tigers are rarely excited to play them, and yes their are a few exceptions but not many.

My guess is that if the flagship and Iowa had played last year: Iowa wins
