Sounds about right. Maybe 5 if their pitch count is low.

Mainieri specifically said in the paper today that Hess would go a "maximum" of 5 innings.

I'm hoping Gilbert can get back to early season form from last year. He seemed to tail off as the season went. Would be great if Hess can be another guy that can go extended innings, I'm just unsure with his control.

I'm really hoping Hess develops into our 4th starter. He's got the stuff, definitely.
I think Gilbert's going to be one of our biggest assets in relief as the season goes on. I think he's going to be that multiple inning reliever that you always need to have to get you through those pithing attrition war series. The dude that can go out and give you three or four solid innings.

Im thinking hess will end up being one of our go to relievers to bridge the gap to newman. His stuff is electric, but he is a little to wild for me to think he will be a starter

I am excited to see Hess pitch Wednesday, got to see him Sunday, liked what I saw in his velocity & slider...hope he can string a few innings together...
Gilbert got hit hard last year and they were banging the walls off him in the fall, hope he gets it together...I know he can pitch...

I wouldn't mind giving Peterson a shot. His stuff was pretty good and control was even better. I think Gilbert could be a "stopper" coming in mid-inning to get us out of trouble while Keil, Reynolds, and Hess could be those 7/8 inning guys if needed. Norman and Bain could eat up innings when we are way up.

I thought Hanny said Reynolds was starting but I may have misheard.
