At wide receiver, it wasn't one of the first four that Miles mentioned, but instead D.J. Chark, who previously scored a touchdown on a deep ball from Harris in last week's scrimmage. Miles said Chark caught "two, maybe three" touchdowns, noting his speed and hands as a big reason he's had success early on this spring.

Sounds like he's just flying past everyone. We've got some serious playmakers on this team, hopefully a QB will emerge and be able to consistently get them the ball

Yep... Everyone is focused on the QB competition, and understandably so, but think they sometimes overlook what other guys are doing. And Chark has had a big spring.

my prediction, and i am not being negative its just the history, is that Chark is one of the one Miles will speak of pre-season and hardly ever see the playing field during the season. Miles does this every year. Not taking anything away from Chark.

What a ray of sunshine you are....

But it will be hard to get consistently PT at WR for guys not named Dural and Dupre. Diarse and Quinn will be the WR3 and WR4 and split time at the slot most likely. And we have Tyron Johnson coming in. But it's nice to know we have guys that are more than capable to come in if something happens.

Plus, I think Chark will get in on some packages and plays due to his burning speed and ability with the ball. He's a big play waiting to happen type of player and is very dynamic and explosive. Could def see him being used in certain packages and situations and use him as a mismatch type of player.

And he could be a factor in the return game as well.

Another ray of sunshine out of this is is the fact that if he caught two or three td's, that means that someone had to throw them against what I think most can agree is a pretty damn good secondary.

How do you know the secondary is that good? Yeah Tre White is back, but on the other side is a true sophomore who we haven't seen much of and a true freshman in his first spring. The young guys may not be at a level you think they are.

Meh...

It was a 130 play scrimmage and most likely wasn't always 1s vs 1s and I'm sure it had plenty of subbing in and out. Its not like a game type of scrimmage. Probably very controlled and mixed guys in and out diff lineups and what not.

And Miles gave the edge to the defense as well. Not worried about the D at all.

Dude...

We return 3/4 starters in Tre White, Adams, and Mills. And the coaches have been very high on Ed Paris since last spring. And KT is a rare breed at CB. And Miles said both Ed Paris and KT look the part and played well and hinted that the competition for the CB2 spot is heating up (most exciting battle for starting spot IMO, along with QB).

Not worried about Paris or KT. Our secondary is really good. And don't forget about Dwayne Thomas. Hopefully he comes back 100%.

They haven't done anything to lock up those spots. Chark could jump either of them

You know, I thought the exact same thing when I read Miles quotes.

Last year it was Pat Petersons brother and one of the D linemen who got all kinds of praise in the spring, then never saw the field again.

I think Miles talks up these guys that will never see the field in effort to motivate the guys he is not talking about.

...except that Chark was the fifth receiver mentioned.

Quinn was 2nd on the team in catches last year, Diarse was 3rd. Chark played in 6 games & didn't touch the ball. I think maybe he can pass one up, but both, prob not.

I think you might have misunderstood it(or maybe I did ).

I think the reporter was saying that Miles didn't mention one of the first 4 WRs, as in Dural, Dupre, Diarse, and Quinn, at first but instead mentioned Chark when asked about the WRs...
