i just had a random convo with Chark's parents for about 30 minutes. they bleed purple and gold ,real good people and they tell me Chark has jumped Dupree on the depth chart.

I think Dupre is playing a ton in the slot this year, so he might have "passed" him up for a traditional wideout spot.

Lester Earl needs to see this thread

You got any more info than that? QB? O-line? Etc?

Unless Chark has learned to catch the ball with his hands instead of his body, it's going to be hard for him to make plays unless he can flat out beat his man downfield (he'll be able to do this occasionally). Helluva athlete already.

If you are a fan of LSU and not individual players, this is absolutely the best thing you can hear.

Not really sure how I feel about this. Dupree always seemed like he had a similar skill set to someone like AJ Green who excels at running deep crossing in post routes. Slots are usually for quick twitch underneath or slants.
I think Chark, Diarse, Johnson and Quinn would fit better in the slot with Dupree and Dural on the ends.

Depth chart is an illusion at LSU. There really is no such thing. It's about rotation. Kid's don't usually come out of LSU with big college numbers because of the way LSU uses the entire team to win. But when the NFL drafts them, the NFL is getting a great player who doesn't have as many miles as some players who get used up in College. I know there are a few exceptions, but you all know what I mean.

Be honest. You have only seen the gauntlet drill, correct?

Maybe we are going base 3 wide?
Chark becomes the #2 outside WR with Dupre in the slot.
If not, at least utilize it a lot more often.
More plays in the shotgun, like a lot of NFL teams run right now. Please let's play to Brandon Harris's strengths, and get as many weapons on the field, at the same time, as we possibly can.

Miles said he is trying to steer a thoroughbred to the finish line

I would be shocked. Dupree started all last year as a freshman, and he has All-Pro measurables and talent. The ONLY way that guy sits the bench is if he has attitude problems - and he seems like a model citizen; he wasn't a prima donna in the recruiting process and hasn't had a whiff of scandal at LSU.
I'm excited about Chark, but I say Dupree is our 1, Dural is our 2, and Chark is our 3, with Diarse and Quinn getting the rest of the reps. The big freshman will not see action in competive games. There's too much depth.

I think its more about matchups than anything. Chi is going to be a beast in the slot, and Harris loves going to Chi. They have a connection, so it will give him that option to look for him over the middle.

No, Dup is fighting for #2 with Diarse. Dural is a clear #1 at this point. Dup is seeing a lot of reps at slot in the 3 set but is still on the outside in the 2. It was in the paper last week. no link....
