Disturbing trend I am seeing with LSU players ahead of the Bama game.

Don't know how better to state it but I am sure there is one.

LSU players do not need to give Bama and it's players any bulletin-board material, Bama is good enough without any extra motivation thrown at them. I don't like seeing our players saying this crap.

"We’re going to dominate this game"

LINK

Come on Dwayne be smarter than this when baited by the press! Do it and then regale in what you have accomplished, but we haven't done shite in the last 5 meetings we don't have any reason to be braggadocious at this point. Also LF was drag into when asked about the game and said LSU would "Definitely" win the game. I appreciate be confident I want that from every LSU player, but being baited by the press our players have to be smarter than to give Bama bulletin-board material.

I truly hate seeing this, you know the Bama staff is going to plaster this crap all over the locker room.

Oh dear lord. As if it matters, maybe its time for our team to start showing some swag of their own. If he has to say this to get motivated, I do not care.

Im sure the media are coaxing that stuff out of them. Really what do you want him to say "I hope we dont lose by 20 again".?? However if you talk the talk you have to be ready to walk the walk.

My "Ugh" is directed at the "disturbed" OP.

From your post, it isn't hard to see you have never played competitive sports at a high level. There is a reason coaches beg players not to give the other team bulletin-board material. But you would know that if you were ever in a locker room as a player or coach.

Meh - as long as it isn't calling specific players on the other team out or nonsense like that, I'm fine with confidence.

I don't want a bunch of guys taking the field against Bama who think they can't win and the game is already lost.

Give me a team filled with guys having the mindset of Herb Tyler and Jacob Hester and we would never lose a game. "Athletically" - those 2 cats were nothing special - at all. All they did was win - despite some physical or athletic limitations. And that started with the belief they could win and that effort made the difference.

Take the off the field stuff away, and that's what made Mathieu a special player, too. The belief that he could get to the ball and make a play from anywhere on the field.

I did, but it was along time ago. I'm nearly 50. When I played, that shite didn't matter one bit once the game started. fricking millennials...

LF was playing fact or fiction. There is no reason to look any closer into that. Also, if someone needs motivation for the LSU Bama game, they need to have their head checked.

I have no problem with having this level of confidence. I agree that it's perfectly fine as long as you are not calling out specific players. That's where other players start taking it personal and amp their game up.

Lighten up. Saban doesn't need this to motivate Bama. His players know what is at stake.
Frankly, Bama bullied us last year and we have folded the last two games in Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers need to believe. Our OL was dominated last year. They need to play mad. Let Thomas and every Tiger stick out his chest if they want. They'll have to back it up with their play anyway.
