Undrafted rookie Dillon Gordon was the star of offensive-defensive line one-on-ones. He owned defensive end Marcus Smith during one pass rush. He just kept pushing Smith away from getting closer to the objective – a towel on the ground. Smith got frustrated and after he finally touched the towel he gave Gordon another push. Gordon did the same to rookie defensive tackle Aziz Shittu. During early team drills, Gordon was at left guard and he mauled Logan with a trap block. By the end of practice he was at left tackle. Gordon played tight end at LSU. At 6-foot-4, 322 pounds, he was primarily a blocking tight end. Could he possibly follow in Jason Peters’ footsteps as a tight end that makes the successful transition to the offensive line?

I always liked the idea of Gordon being a tackle. His injury last year was really big.

That's basically what he was here.

Losing him and Moore was huge. People underestimated their contributions.

Gordon was throwing Florida's defenders around like rag-dolls before reaggravating his injury

Why didn't he play tackle at LSU? He was a mauler in the trenches. I'm sick of having guards at the tackle positions. We have a plethora of guys who can play guard, but when it comes to the tackle position we're always lacking.

Should've been a tackle from the start.

Only at lsu can losing a walk on fb and blocking tight end derail the season.

Undrafted free agent to left tackle... doing pretty well for himself so far!

Always a big fan. When he went down last yr, not only did LSU lose a powerful blocker they lost their intimidator. He was a grown man. A real tough guy on a young OL.it wouldve been a different story agaist the gumps had he been out there.
Not saying we win but they wouldnt have ran rough shot all over us especially when we ran right. Leonard woukdve had a chance to plow into some LB's and safeties with a head of steam.
Im still pissed at that play call. Never throw him the ball and then the first game off a big leg injury throw him a little pass in the flat. Knowing the little DBs were going to go low on his big a$!#? At best you gain 8-10 yards on that play. SMH.
I think he makes the team. Hes a flat out beast.

Usually people on here bitch about how we don't throw the ball to the TE enough, but you're over here bitching about the one time we did... Thing is, if Gordon's leg wasn't fully healed, he was going to re-injure it at some point anyway, just sucks he couldn't get a medical redshirt and be here again this year.

No where near bitching and I dont disagree that with a running game like LSUs there is no freaking reason not to throw to the TE more. But LSu hadnt thrown a pass in the flat to a TE in years. Hell they rarely throw one to RB.
You dont know if he was going to reinjure himself or not the rest of the year. Every week that went by he wouldve been stronger.
Just remembering a real tough guy that was a Tiger and I hope he makes the team and has a good career.
