If you didn't watch why would you ask such an obscure question after a win? How many hits, home runs, or stolen bases maybe, but to ask how many thrown out at home seems to indicate you already know the answer.

3... And everyone with the gift of sight knew they were going to be out before it happened. Everyone except Cain and the TV announcers.

You'll hear talk about "perfect" or "amazing" throws, but they weren't perfect or amazing, they just weren't bad. And that's all it took - decent throws - and there's 3 out at home.

Oh, and 2 came in the same inning.

Then with all due respect, please do not clog the rant with shite. Real fans only need apply.

eta: unless there were some circumstances preventing said watching, apologies. Just need clarification so we can weed out people who bitch for fun versus people who understand the beef they spew.

2 were bad calls sending the runners home on a single and the 3rd was on a squeeze play. The play was there the bunt was just poorly executed.

What a crock of shite. Or maybe you didn't watch, but you damn sure knew the answer to your question before you posted this.

That's not true. At all.

You can argue whether or not it was worth the risk, but to act like they were out by 10 feet is ridiculous. The two throws from the outfield had to be very good throws, and given the circumstances surrounding the plays and the point in the game, most 3B coaches are going to send that runner.

This is classic hindsight. Those throws were on the money.

When the ball is hit to the shallow outfield, right at the outfielder, you've got to think twice about sending the guy. Two factors that the third base coach should know are the speed of the runner and the arm of the fielder. But when it's shallow, and the fielder is coming straight on, we're going to be gunned down most of the time. And that's what keeps happening this year. CPM needs to rethink this, because the quality of outfield arms is going to keep getting better as we advance.

You didn't watch like I didn't read your post and replied. Guess we both are delusional liars.

it's as simple as this. sure, an inexperienced guy has trouble at first with judging the OF vs the timing of the runner but he should have it by now. college OF'ers don't make the mistakes high schoolers do. hell, high schoolers would have nailed our guys last night.

the situation last night usually calls to send the runner but Cain obviously wasn't watching the LFer on the last one. that ball wasn't far behind the SS and was hit hard. it seems we make our mind up before the ball is even hit and if the situation is right we run no matter what.

Sorry I couldn't watch. I was at the hospital visiting my Uncle in Lafayette. I had heard them talking about it on the radio after the game while driving home.
