They flew up to Louisville to talk to petrino (had just left auburn as OC) and it got leaked. The problem is Tubberville kept winning The following year was his undefeated year I believe

Yes, Planegate. 2003. They flew to Louisville to meet Petrino while Tubberville was still the coach.
Though I kind of think it's a worse move on Alleva's part. He intentionally leaked that Miles was on the hot seat. That's him conspiring to get Miles fired, while the Auburn AD was just prematurely looking for Tubberville's replacement.
