1:40 remaining and auburn is making a mini push. The offense looked out of sorts a few possessions in a row and we needed some points right there. The shot clock had gotten down to 10 secs and there was confusion between the players.... Seems like a good TO to me.

This coach just can't win with you guys

Good on CJJ.

Rondo tried pulling that waiving off crap on Carlisle last year. It's disrespectful, & a bad look. He will learn from it and move on

It's never a bad TO when you still have all 4 of them and have a point to make. I did it often to get a point across and if it didn't get through, then bench time was given to the player.

JJ seemed more confused than Ben did.

Lol are people seriously saying that CJ called a bad time out? Really stretching to find fault there. He called a TO because his player clearly didn't want to listen to what he was telling him.

Ben was right. CJJ needs to just sit on the end of the bench and let Ben take over.

Can you give an explanation of why it's a bad timeout? You just keep throwing one liners and hoping something sticks

Went back and watched at 1:44 mark. Did not See "chewing out". He looked at Ben during the TO in the middle of the huddle and spoke intensely like he did to rest of team.

It's not necessarily a bad timeout. Just a pointless one.

LSU was up by 12+ pts with less than 2 minutes left and Ben was just dribbling out the clock.

There aren't many bad timeouts in basketball. It's not like football where the clock stops and even tho the play clock is running the clock is still stopped. Calling timeout and resetting the play in basketball will take off the exact same amount of clock as not calling the timeout.
That being said I saw it and I agree with the timeout. LSU the last couple of possessions were just dribbling around and shooting a not good look as time expired and auburn made a small run. You people want Johnny to coach and when he does you get on him. Make up your mind. I think Benny needs an arse chewing sometimes.

I did, only saw that from him one other time...at A&M last year he chewed Martin and Mickey both out for half-assing it, sat them both down and we rallied from an 8-point deficit without them at tied it at half.

But we lost that game anyway. I'm not seeing we need to see it every game, but maybe more than once a year a bit of fire.

I see what your saying, strategy wise, yes no real need for a TO. But he was clearly trying to get BS to do something and he wasn't listening, that was clearly the point of the TO. Probably should have sat him.

I thought it was a good timeout, even if it was just to get the players to refocus and take direction.

Looked like Ben and Victor were playing a 2 man game, with Ben wanting to drive or something, maybe a showboat move. JJ called the timeout and got up in his face. I forget what the play was when we came out of the TO.

I'm pretty sure gray scored off of a drive after that timeout
