Did we almost have a Bartman incident?

I went to game after rain delay but was on other side. In the 9th, looked like fan interference on a catchable ball, but hard to tell. The young chap was really celebrating in first row. The batter flyed out to right so it didn't matter, but was it fan interference?

Didn't matter. Fielder alligator armed it.

Plus it was well into the stands.

I was on that row, 6 seats away, we gave deichmann room, he apparently thought he wasnt gonna get to it, he was about 5 feet from the ball. No one interfered.

Now the guy in the 4th ish or so inning, definitely stole a chance from greg, and didnt catch him from falling into the stands.

Thanks for clarifying

It was hard to tell but deichmann looked upset and the guy was really holding up the ball. Old people were angry

I missed the one in the 4th.

Yeah. Difference was it was into the stands a bit. I guess the kid and those around could have cleared out and let the fielder try for a diving into the stands catch. But then again that might have allowed for a try to tag up and advance as I think someone was on base.

Yea, I was pretty disappointed with our fans on that one to be honest.

Deichman pulled up well short of the wall and appeared to have momentarily lost track of the ball in the air.

He didn't even extend his glove for it completely. Also, the kid didn't reach into the field of play I don't think.

Greg thought the wall was closer to him than it was. He was about 5 or so feet from it

After flipping over the wall with little help from your own fans earlier in the game, I really don't blame him for second guessing the pop-up in the 9th.

I was 3 rows behind the kid. Deichmann pulled up, but if he didn't it very well could've been a Bartman type deal. Would not have been interference because the ball landed in the first row so he wasn't reaching into the field of play, but it could have been a catchable ball.

I was right behind the kid. Kid was going for the ball no matter what. He was definitely holding the ball up in Deichmann's face taunting him with it.

I don't think he was intentionally taunting him just excited he got a ball and held it up.

I bet the play earlier when Deichmann crashed into the wall affected him on that play. Either way, tigers win so I'm happy.

Wouldn't be the first time. Some loser took the ball out of Dean's glove a few years ago.

I was sitting near the one in the fourth. It was catchable and it was a grown man with a glove at the game :nasty:

Seriously, the worst. Be a man and catch it with your hands if a ball comes at you.

eta: Only catch it if it doesn't interfere with an LSU player, of course

A grown man wearing a glove at a game should be shamed by everyone around him.

On an unrelated note, was the little girl who was hit in the face by Bell's HR ok, besides maybe a black eye?
