I realize the answer is probably "yet to be determined" but,for those who attended the Ole Miss game, what's the early results indicate ?

It was loud as shite. Probably top 10 of games I've attended as far as consistent noise levels.

It would be so bad arse if they put up a sound screen to deflect the noise at the other end. I don't know how you would do it..I know they make pannels to absorb sound. I'm sure something contoured/smooth would deflect it if it's hard enough matierial.

If it did, the difference is probably very minimal. It was not discernibly louder against OM than it was against Bama or South Carolina in 2012, Bama in 2008, or UF in 2007.

Everybody thinks the last big game they went to was "the loudest they've ever heard the stadium". The reality that OM was just the first game in a while where the entire crowd stayed and cheered the whole game, thus making the stadium "seem" louder.

You would think it would be. Physics plays a part.

I've been to a lot of games in my life, and the ole miss game was easily top 2 I've ever been to.

This. I'd even venture to say those 12 games were louder. I think we may bring it to a new level for the Bama game though. I think a lot of people were still down on LSU at the time of the Ole Piss game.

My cool story of the day.....
I was on the field for the ole miss game. My bro in law hooked me up, and was able to be part of the firework crew. Basically I just had to hold a rope, but I got to stand on the center of the eye when the team ran out. It was beyond loud. You could literally feel the roar of the crowd on your feet. It was an incredible sight to look down the tunnel and watch the team run out from where I was standing. To have to hear that scream all game as an opposing fan/player is something that can't ever be forgotten.

The Ole Miss game was the loudest one I've ever attended. I won't be at the Bama game, but I hope the fans who attend cheer so loud the Blake Sims can't hear himself think!

I do wish they would put a noise decibel meter up, like the Deaf Dome (that's basketball for those of you who don't know). It seemed like the crowd would always get louder when it was rocking just to try to get it to read higher.

And Fowler at one point as Ole Miss lined up to snap the ball uttered a single word...

"Deafening."

That is the "Cool Story of the Day"

seriously.

I always wondered (we all have) what that must sound like from the field. Only players and refs really know. You got a taste. I bet it's even louder on some crazy 4th down play on D or something like that.

Can I help hold the rope? C'MOOOONNNN!!!!!

The Deaf Dome noise-tromiter was awesome (for those that don't know) Back in the Shaq days and a little before.
That would be cool to make the new video ribbons pump like that!
