I agree with this...... They would make a lot of noise in the NIT imo.........

I don't disagree with your assessment, but Denver is down 39-32 in the second half to Texas St. Should Denver get eliminated early, I think La Tech wins easily.

We also need to pull against teams like:

FSU (against Clemson)
Washington (against Oregon)
TAMU (even though we beat them twice)
Texas (against K-State)
Purdue (against Nebraska)

Good news:

Arizona State blew a lead and lost to UCLA, they are probably still in however.

Ga. Tech got blown out today by BC, which should eliminate the Yellow Jackets.

I don't think we clinched. Depends on how the NCAA shapes out. I think we'll make it, but I wouldn't quite say clinched yet.

We'll take care of that after we knock off Florida.

This has us out (before todays game though)

It's now 43-32 Tex. St. in the 2nd half. Long way to go, but it would be nice.

Reality distortion field. Steve Jobs lives. This has been a great season and you have to admire the way this team has gutted it out but they just are not that good. Everything has to go their way for them to beat a quality opponent. And I do mean everything. With Carmouche injured and the whole team clanging free throws, it just isn't going to happen.

Amazing... in 1986.. LSU had a 19-10 record and was the 11th seed in the NCAA tourney. (Some rumored the last at large team). We went on the beat Purdue in double OT, Memphis, Gat Tech and UK to advance to the final 4. I was a student there at the time. It was awesome.. The first two games were in the PMAC. The NCAA doesn't allow that anymore.

I remember Dale Brown running off the court after we beat #2 Memphis on a last second shot. Good times!

Texas St. hung on to win 72-68! Denver has been eliminated. Now we have to hope a loss to Texas St. is enough to keep Denver out of the NIT as an at-large, otherwise all we did was trade Denver for La. Tech. Also, La. Tech must win the tournament or else both Denver and La. Tech could end up in the NIT.

i don't think we made it, figuring we're to lose to UF tomorrow.
too many conference winners losing in the tourney, thus bumping them down into the NIT. just bad timing.

LSU likely won't get into the NIT without a win against Florida. They could play with most NIT caliber teams though.

Why are you getting so mad about the NIT? If I were on their committee, I'd put LSU in because I've seen them play a good bit and know how good they've been for the most part lately. However, there are a bunch of spots taken up by auto bids (and more taken daily) and a bunch of teams ahead of LSU for at large spots because LSU's computer numbers don't match up and that's more important to them than the 'eye test' that I would use to put them in.

I don't think LSU will make it either, without a win against Florida. Our RPI when the updated numbers come out will be about 80.

Let's just win the conference tournament.

Would Arkansas losing help? They are down 8 at the half to Vandy.

The Purdue loss to Nebraska definitely helps.

BTW our RPI will likely be around 80 even with a loss tomorrow. That is probably enough to get in.
