I want to say yes but I'm not 100% confident.

Team could use more games and I think an NIT home game would do a lot for upping the fanbase's excitement going into next season

One more game would help.

Another scenario is to hope that the bubble teams in our conference get in the tournament.

Well, we at least knocked UGA out of contention.

The SEC needs to get at least 4 in the NCAAT: Florida, Mizzou, UK and either OM/Alabama/Tennessee.

Think we still have to sweat through some conferenc tourneys. Illinois beating Minnesota in the Big Ten tourney was a good win for us. Same with UT beating Moo St.

I hope. When we make it to the garden should be more people than it was last time we were in northeast

Clinch? No.

But I think it put LSU back on the bubble for the NIT. Prior to today, we were out of it.

Today helped, but we definitely still need some chips to fall our way.

I like the NIT better anyways.

Id hope if LSU wins the SECT, they'll decline the automatic invite to the NCAA and take the NIT

I feel the same, holding on to that half time lead would have made me about 99% confident.

A win vs UF would pit us against Alabama/Tennessee in the Semis, and I feel confident vs either.

It would be great if someone real shitty emerged from the other side of the bracket, like Arkansas or Vanderbilt.

What in the world is this thinking? I'd rather get blown out of the 1st round of the NCAA tourney then win the NIT.

I think today clinched it. I predict LSU will play Southern Miss. in a 6-3 or 7-2 game, hopefully in Baton Rouge (depends on whether USM put in a bid for the game).

Just in case I'm wrong, we need to pull for Clemson tonight against FSU. Clemson isn't going anywhere, but FSU could take a spot from us if they win tonight.

To hell with NIT.
We going to the Big Dance, Dale Brown Style.
Slide in at an 11-12 seed and watch the carnage begin.

A big problem is that seven low major regular season conference champs have lost in their respective conference tournaments. All of those teams are guaranteed NIT invites.
