The UF game was an O screw up.

He caused a red zone fumble? Told Guice to run the wrong way?

My only complaint against him about that game was giving into emotions with playing Fournette.

Kinda like when you go find Brazos, broski, ellshoe, Jones, and others and yall sit around stroking it together shitting on O. You don't have a clue yet, but it doesn't stop your constant shitting on O. When Lsu does well this year, don't fkn say a word....you have taken your stance.

Or told jackson to get tossed aside like a rag doll on a 95 yard td pass, then fumble a kickoff...

I agree on fournette...but the O haters are just looking for something to bitch about. In general, they aren't the brightest group, yet, they act if they are smarter than anyone else. It's funny, generally, the smarter the guy, the more humble, objective, and more willing to listen. The more insecure and less intelligent, those are the ones who know it all and can't be reasoned with.

Didn't expect 8-0, but I'm glad with the decision to end CLM's outdated football "philosophy" at LSU. At least LSU football is relevant and exciting again... Geaux Tigers!!!

Did anyone really expect LSU to replace Les Miles with a guy who had been a head coach for 3 years (9 years ago), went 10-25 (3-21 in conference), and had never been a coordinator?

No but I though he'd go 7-1, 6-2 at worst. Interim gigs quite often end nice because it was obviously time for the coach before to go for whatever reason and the team is rejuvenated and excited. Of course we know talent is not the problem.

I expect some of that to carry over this year, in fact I think this will be one of O's best if not the best year he has (hope I'm wrong on that). I fear time will expose his limitations....again, not desire to be right here...just my opinion.

While I agree, but...CEO was not out there giving up a 99 yd TD pass, botching a snap/hold for chip-shot FG, nor running the wrong way on the last play of the game.

Time will tell regarding CEO. Give the leader of LSU FB a chance, and we'll go from there. His report card will come due by the end of Oct with games vs BYU, Miss St, FL and Aub amongst others.

No. But going 7-1 was realistic in my opinion.

No, of course not. And if he had run the table I still would have been against hiring him. What he does as an interim HC is a small part of what it takes to be a head coach.

Most of us have little idea what it takes to be an executive, which is what the HC is. I've been around good executives in my job, and I can tell you that the organization and ability to manage people is key. How good of a coach he is has little to do with being a HC.

But all of that is behind us. We all should be all in for O because he is our coach. And wouldn't it be hilarious if he did well? Think of all the national air time and the rest of the country being unable to understand him.

Saban, Meyer. There's two names. Now, the real question isn't who would have done better, it's who is likely to do better. And there are about 50 names on that list.

The reason alleva fired miles after auburn game is because miles would of gone 6-2 at worst. The loss to UF should of sealed the deal that coach O would not be hired. Dude was a bad hire and my proof is no one else wanted him or had him on a list of potential hires. Alleva hated miles and pouted when Herman went back on his word.

You are under the mistaken impression that this is simple arithmetic - Good Offensive Coach + Good Defensive Coach = Good Team. There are two things wrong with this equation. First, you left out a bunch of factors like, good special teams, good recruiting, good strength and conditioning, etc. Second, even if you included those factors the equation is invalid. The chief executive of any organization has to maintain a successful culture. That is extremely difficult to do. It requires a leader who is part conqueror, part psychologist, part disciplinarian, part strategist, and probably many other things. This is why the vast majority of great coaches fail to be good head coaches.

No one expected 8-0. Coach O is perfect for the interm role. He was the shot of adrenaline this program desperately needed. But it was a lazy hire by Alleva. Fisher was not a realistic candidate, we were already turned down in 2015, and Herman wanted the Texas job. I find it very hard to believe there was no other head coach willing to take this job.

Oh shut the frick up boy. You don't have a clue. I don't shite on O , I'm just able to admit to myself that it was a weak hire and call out the dumbasses that want O strictly because he can cook an gumbo just like mamma. I've said many times that O might turn out to be a great hire and wreck the league but on paper it was a horrible hire . Ill still be at the BYU game and whatever games I can make pulling for LSU.

No. When he was named interim, most of the talk was Jimbo/Herman, and most agreed that O could possibly coach his way into contention if he ran the table.

After the Bama loss youhad about half the fan base saying he should not be considered and the other half saying that he should get a look if he doesn't lose anymore games. He lost to Florida and most breathed a sigh of relief knowing that there was no way he would be considered for the job.

Then you have the debacle during the A&M game with Herman and O is named HC a couple days later. The idiots are elated because he is "one of us" and the rest is history.

mean, we're talking about 2 losses here....2!! I

Isn't that what we wanted to fire Miles over every year?

O supporters and the AD were the one saying give him a chance and if he goes 8-0 then you have to hire him

Then we lost and it changed to "well 7-1 is still awesome you still have to hire him!!"

Then we lost again and it changed again "it's only two losses!! He's one of us we won't find another Cajun guy to run our team!!"

We could've gone 0-8 and people on here would've wanted him back because he's from Louisiana. Joe Alleva listened to the mouth breathers and decided to not even have a coaching search for a guy having mediocre results

This is the most important thing.

Miles absolutely would have been 3-1 through Mizzou, USM, Ole Miss, and Bama.

I'm also pretty certain he would have been 2-1 or 3-0 against Arkansas, Florida, and aTm.

The last thing Alleva needed was to fire a guy who maybe finished a season 6-1 after a rough start, deserved or not.
