Aranda seemed to do it very well last year, just saying.

He also had 3 NFL starters, and others drafted, on his defense. An average DC can do well with that level of talent.

It's what a coach does with lesser talent that truly shows his greatness.

Agree, but he, unlike O, has earned a chance to prove himself.

He basically said most of the defense has no idea what's coming pre snap. It was obvious.
Aranda (And fans) finally learning you can't do that quick "Read and React" stuff here to the extent he could with those Wisconsin players.

Gotta have athletes that can think quick and process information quickly. We don't across the board. All the MJ don't help with the "Quick Thinking" either; just the opposite........

Wait is it O's fault defensive players aren't watching enough film or Aranda?

At this point, I would say both. I'm giving no one a pass in any of this mess right now. If defensive players are not doing their due diligence in the film room, that should fall on Aranda to fix. And if he doesn't then the Head Coach should be responsible for getting his DC to fix that problem.

So...it's the coaches that are soft.

You also have to have self motivated players who study on their own time since College players are limited in time they can spend on activities.

He's one of the few guys that brings it every play. Hopefully he'll keep calling his teammates out and maybe they'll start listening

I get so sick of this absolute bs. Aranda had success in the past, so let's not hold him accountable. Good god

Aranda's fairly intelligent. We are five games into the season plus all of the summer workouts. His defense has many veteran players on it and the new guys are no longer inexperienced. Yet, they continue to regress. Yes, he has been ultra successful in the past so, you should be able to see a developing, improving defense. It ain't happening. He, along with O, is responsible for whatever is the cause. He may have seen the writing on wall with O and looking for a way out of the sinking ship.
