I was listening to one of the radio talk shows the other day and heard that Voorhies may be sliding down to LB. Did anyone else here this? Can't remember which show I heard it on...

I personally think that is a good transition. I loved him coming out of high school. Here is a LINK to his LSU Bio. Decent size, just need to put some weight on.

SIAP. I searched through tRant, but didn't see anything.

To answer your question, I doubt it, unless he puts on about 30 lbs. He is a hard hitter and the secondary is getting a little crowded, so maybe.

Secondary to LB position change. Always the surest way to tell if it's the offseason

He is a physical tackler, add weight could be a good fit with all the other DB's coming in

Maybe Corey Thompson could slide down too, they might need the depth if they don't sign any in this class

Maybe if he adds 20lbs of weight... He was just 208lbs this past season and he already bulked up a lot from his SR year of high school to freshman year at LSU. He got huge haha. But not sure how much bigger he can get.

High school:

Freshman year:

Added some serious bulk in just a few months. And not sure how much bigger eh can get with his build and how big he is now.

But a Voorhies fan as well. He had some awesome interviews in the recruiting process. Link

And he made some big plays for us down the stretch on special teams and Alwyas thought he was an overlooked recruit coming out of high school. He put up some serious #s in high school going both ways.

Regardless where he plays, he's gonna be a good for us. Moving to LB might give give him a chance to see the field earlier than if he stays at safety though. But the kids an athlete and the staff had to choose to put him at safety or at WR. He's a player.

Heard someone say Jamal Adams should gain 20lbs and move to OLB.

Though I can see Voorhies making the transition. I think I read somewhere last year that he played more OLB as a senior than safety.

I have actually read previously that this move was going to be considered, and thought Voorhies was a big safety--it's worth a try, I think.

Remember Eric Alexander? He almost never saw the field as a DB, but then started as a LB and even played some in the NFL. When the Chief was here, I thought he might move some safety types to LB, but I don't recall him doing that much. But others have made the transition.

If he's truly 6'2" he could get to 240 and be a great sized LB

I would like to see him at safety with Jamal Adams. Kind of Chad Jones.

In terms of having a bigger safety.

He was.
Being a great QB in HS has nothing to do with success in college football, especially in the SEC.

Wasn't Harris the greatest high school QB in the history of football? Cam's personally selected QB.

Well, he arrived on campus and got a look at the playbook and was . No RS year either because the HC ran off the backups.

We'll see what BH is made of in the Spring. No more excuses any longer. Some physically talented HS QB's never make the transition to college because they can't process information quickly and learn a complicated playbook. Fact. He'll either take the job from AJJ or we're in trouble as far as winning any Championships is concerned. Will be another 7-5 or 8-4 type season without a passing game, even if the Defense is improved and plays lights out........

If a safety was moving to LB my money would be one Corey Thompson before anyone else because of his size.

Again, he's 6'2 and was 185 coming out of high school. He's 208lbs now and already looks pretty big. I really don't see him putting on 30+lbs in the next 2 years. That would mean he added between 50lbs to 60lbs at LSU. We have a great strength coach in Moffit... But 50-60lbs in 3years is ridiculous

Even more so when you consider his build.
