Unless Wisconsin wins each subsequent game in convincing fashion, I'd have to imagine a blowout loss to LSU would not do much for Wisconsin in the eyes of the committee.

Even after getting crushed 48-7 by LSU in 2007, Virginia Tech would have prolly made this new playoff format finishing 3rd in the BCS rankings.
Most always better to lose early.

Big 10 champion will still have a very strong argument to get in. Obviously, it depends on the records of the other power 5 conference champions.

Hell, I heard worse than Desmond's prediction this morning on ESPN radio. Phil Steele picked three dark horse teams to make the playoff - Ole Piss, Texas Tech, and Michigan State, I believe. During the whole conversation on dark horse teams, LSU wasn't mentioned.
But, it's okay - until LSU makes the playoff Phil Steele will be talking; when LSU makes it to the playoff, he'll be quiet (my twist on Smokey in the movie Friday)...

Their schedule is a joke. After LSU, the best teams they play are Nebraska and Iowa. They could very easily finish 10-2 or 11-1 without much of a hassle.
